RX bot can run, but is no ASIMO

A Korean startup has built the country's first robot capable of running, the two-foot-tall, network-controlled RX. The bot is capable at hoofing it at a pace of about .3 mph; not exactly what we'd call a speedy gait, and certainly no match for ASIMO's brisk 1.8 mph. The company behind the bot, Robotis, spent an estimated $1 million jointly developing it with Samsung and Korea's Ministry of Information and Communication. Given Korea's plans for an army of network-controlled worker bots, we sort of don't mind that RX is a little slow. As long as we can outrun him (and he's only two feet tall), we feel a lot better about the future.
