Microsoft, Nokia, and tons more form mobile gaming forum

N-Gage small

Funny that we don't yet have a working name for what could be one of the bigger alliance / partnerships of 2006, but Microsoft and Nokia are working with one of the more impressive rosters of companies we've seen for a while on a new mobile gaming architecture standard, which will include work with Activision, Digital Chocolate, Electronic Arts, Ideaworks3D, Konami, MontaVista Software, SK Telecom, Square Enix, Symbian, Samsung Electronics, Tao Group, and Texas Instruments. Apparently TI's set to release an OMAP 2 implementation in the second half of this year, so we may soon be playing a lot more profesionally developed mobile games than nowadays -- for better or worse.
