Not stupid. Brilliant. I needed a way to remove the wires from my Bose Lifestyle 30 rear speakers so I could position them around my couch without the wires getting in the way. These speakers are mounted on thin poles with a weighted base. For various reasons I am unable to run wires along the floor, ceiling, and walls of my new home. This project fits the bill nicely. All I need is the RF or IR portions (depending on the brand headphone I choose), an IC power amp per speaker, and a rechargeable battery. All components can fit in a box attached to the weighted base. I'll then have two speakers that I can put anywhere in my living room within range of the TX without tripping on any wires. I can even make the batteries removeable so I can plug them into a charging stand near my media console after each movie or day of listening to music. Brilliant!
