We know you've been waiting for
this moment. You have, haven't you? Well, even if you haven't, you can at least be relieved, since it means that we'll
stop posting items about how the
T-Mobile MDA (aka the HTC Wizard)
is coming. That's right. The MDA is available right now in T-Mob's online store. So, start clicking if you've been
waiting to order one. Or, breathe a sigh of relief that we're done with this story if you haven't been. (And don't
worry; we'll find another hot new smartphone to obsess over right away.)
The Gadget is everyone waiting for.
without any support for mac are you able to use the download cd to add initial software to mda out of the box using a mac?
HTC PDA phone is geeting popular now in US. Was very popular in EUROPE and ASIA. MDA is ready to Rumble in the US market.
This is a Touch Down for HTC. It will be big in the US.
Hi. I got my mda last friday. god this thing is awesome. I'm really enjoying this phone. I've used the sk2 and I don't like it as much as this.
You can use your fingers. and not the stylus. Also, you rarely need the stylus once you discover all the shortcuts.
You can double press the circle button and locks into number mode. numbers are quite easy. I do get the O and the 0 mixed up sometimes hehehe.
The autocomplete feature is nice too. The one thing I don't like wheb you press the close button the app doesn't close it just hides it. so if you never close anything out your performance takes a huge hit.
The camera is really nice actually. The 1.3m on this mda is MUCH better the the 1.3m on my roomates phone.
I had a few issue's getting my package right. However, T-Mobile support people are top notch. And the wait time wheb I call them is 2 minutes.
I have turned this mda into a google phone. the mail client connects to my google email. I put Imov messenger on here for google talk. And I got a google moBlog setup for my mda. http://hovrak.blogspot.com/
One other nice feature that isn't in the manual. When your connected to USB on your pc with activesync it goes online through you pc. So if you don't have wifi just plug in the usb.
If you have questions about my mda let me know.
H.
There's a great app that will allow you to close your open apps on the MDA.

Other than processor a little bit slow, this is a mini comp. Eventually, do we need a laptop any more???
Ok..I have had teh T-Mobile MDA a week now and must say I love it.
I did a tutorial for People that have laptops and want to use the MDA as an EDGE Modem. It works great. Also, I am going to work on getting it to work with Bluetooth.

Went to T-mobile. sold out. I love to have it and try out.
Went to T-mobile. I can not get this to try out since I cancelled the contract recently.
I love to try and give feedback. I have tried alot of HTC phones before. They very great.
im curious what programs MDA owners have downloaded that really made the MDA more enjoyable. program name, how it helps & where you found it. any help with this topic would be appreciated!
i should have added, i currently have a SKII but thats as close as i have gotten to the pocket pc world...im a newby, lots to learn! im looking into upgrading to the new MDA as soon as they are available again.
Does anyone know if this picks up regular Wi-fi or odes it have to be T-mobil wifi? thanks
JDM.
What type of Bluetooth are you using with the MDA? Mine is on backorder so I am trying to get all the accessories now. I have been with T-Mobile for over a year and it works great in my area with little to no problem. One ot the things that people must realize is that every carrier has problems so where. T-Mobile has a great coverage map and if you ASK before starting service what the coverage is like in your area, you will get an honest answer from Customer Care if your area is good enough for service. If you are having problems within your home, you can install a repeater or a booster in your home to help with the signal strength. Generally it is the way the metal is in a building that will keep you from getting a good signal. As for you, MIKEYKNOWS with your #14 comment, if you EDUCATE yourself on the carrier that you are getting that will help you make a good decision on who you should have for service. NO service is perfect. Every service has problems. And every service provider has people like yourself who doesn't pay their bills or feels that a company "owes" them something that they know is just impossible to get.
personally, i haven't played with the phone on it but i think it has enough to convince me it'll be a helpful tool in my line of work... i love the sk2 for wat it duz and i have been a fan of the sk family BUT it dusn't have certain things i need. this phone shows many things i need although the list of not very good things about it makes me think. im atry my best and check it out at the store and see whats up... im definitely thinking of getting one in the next month. if you definitely object please gimme all your reasons...
The MDA is the best device out there, right now. How can you dare compare it to SKII? It's so different.
1. I download Gsplayer and I am listenning to broadcast radio everytime I want.
2. I am synching easy with my usb cable cable or beaming.
3.The wi-fi is perfect and I am using it at starbucks and borders everyday with my T-Mo hotspot account. Beautiful
4. The sound quality is comparable to an Ipod and I was last week travelling to Texas and I use the phone to watch John Q I downloaded in a 2g minisd card.
5. The voice feature is great and i am recording my lectures and I will beam it to my laptop after class, everyday.
6.I also have games in minisd I am playing with me.
To exchange info now I am just beaming or synching at night my calendar.
7.Also it will detect the wi-fi spot in enable.
8.The camera is grat too even it's a 1.3 mpx
Only one great advice: send your pics to a pc or laptop everyday to gain space/ delete your temp files by opening internet explorer>menu>tools>memory>delete files.
Bad note: You have to be used to creat space by going to settings->system> memory>Running prog to stop all or any prog your are not using.
But anyway, you can do soooooooooo many things with the MDA you can even not imagine doing with SK or Treo or Blackberry.
Another thing: It's a WM5 not a 2003.
Please start comparing apple to... apple
My mom and I each have an MDA, and we love them. (FYI: we bought them, at Comp USA in Tacoma WA). It's an awesome device. User friendly (despite having a microsoft operating system. I'm a mac user myself, so go figure.). Totally worth the money. Great screen size, nice to have mini sd card slot. Light years above all previous smart phones. A must have.
Please could someone tell me how i can sync my new toy MDA vario tmobile to an apple computer, this is driving me crazy not being able to sync all my data and organise my life, surely there must be a patch (free!) that will allow actvie sync to run on apple os?.....
I just got my MDA last night (4/5/06.) I was wondering if anyone knew the largest MINI SD card it will support. I have not been able to find that information out. The specs on the TMobile site don't say.
Thanks! :)

I am using a 2 gig Sandisk card and it is working fine.
hey -- anyone know how to NOT get text msg notifications everytime an email blows in? it's starting to drive me crazy...
Thanks for any info.

I got my T-Mobile MDA from www.UShopWireless.com. You are correct this is high speed internet. Great device. Highly recommend.
I just cancelled my Nextel service. I had the i870 ($400) and the phone and service were horrible. I read a post about someone almost taking Sprint to small claims court; well I did take Nextel/Sprint to court(a-holes). Anyway. I just purchased the T-Mobile MDA on 8/14/06 and it will arrive today. Can't wait. I hear nothing but good things about there service and phones. I like the fact that the MDA is a T-Mobile phone and not a MOTO because I have nothing but problems with MOTO when I buy a new phone. I do not think that MikeKnows anything because this phone gives me the chills just looking at it on T-Mobiles website. Well got to go see if UPS sent it out for delivery yet.
See Ya!!!
It is out for transit everyone. About 2 miles from my house I can not wait.
