Shuttle slims down with XPC X100 form factor
It might not be
quite as tiny tiny as that Viiv uDMS
P60 machine we saw recently, but Shuttle's new XPC X100 is
looking like quite the contender for the mini PC crown. The 2.13-inch tall WMCE unit holds a 1.83GHz Core Duo processor, 512MB of RAM, ATI
Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics which are upgradeable via MXM, 250GB SATA II HDD, digital audio, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, a
memory card reader, DVI, and TV out. Shuttle hasn't quite pinned everything down, so we don't know the price yet, and
those specs could change, but we'll know more soon since they're displaying the X100 at CeBIT next month.

That looks hideous. If it weren't for the stripey bit it would be ok I suppose, but at the moment...ewww.
Dan @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:34AM
Reminds me of a certain next-gen gaming console, the..."Shmevolution"...yes....
Will @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:35AM
That thing has a similar shape to nintendo's revolution.
pete @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:41AM
Fanless?
Samuel McConnell @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:44AM
Sounds kinda like the MacBook Pro...
PodMonkeys @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:50AM
Very nice!
Its like MacBook Pro or Imac Specs in a Mini sized case that looks like a cross between a Nintendo Revolution and an NES!
I definately wouldn't mind having one! :D
Jon Maddox @ Feb 22nd 2006 11:05AM
does it have a tuner?? how can this be a wmce computer with no tuner?
Pal @ Feb 22nd 2006 11:12AM
Why does it look like the Nintendo Revolution? Face it, guys -- the Revolution is just a scaled cube with a DVD slot.
I use a Shuttle now, and this new model is quite interesting! Sign me up.
Hamson @ Feb 22nd 2006 11:25AM
Man, that thing totally reminds me of an NES. I'd buy it.
Jon Acheson @ Feb 22nd 2006 11:56AM
I was going to say it looked like a great basis for a home theater pc, but it has no internal expandibility. OTOH, you could use USB tuners...
Hmm.

i cant remember the link but revolution patented this design, someone scan uspto website cuz i dont have enough patience to browse that site.
Fird @ Feb 22nd 2006 12:31PM
Now where did I put that SNES Emulator...
MarvinK @ Feb 22nd 2006 1:10PM
"i cant remember the link but revolution patented this design..."
Patented to idea of a small slot-load box? wtf
I hope Apple knows about this... cause they are in deep trouble with the mac mini!
Or does it have to have a power button to cause Nintendo trouble? If so, I hope Sharp and others who make super-small HTIB or DVD players know about this! They've been making them for several years.
Mark @ Feb 22nd 2006 2:00PM
Now all you need is space for a handful of external drives to stack this thing on so you actually have room to record TV.
Giulio @ Feb 22nd 2006 2:22PM
Wonderfull. I'm waiting for a MINI PC like this

"7. does it have a tuner?? how can this be a wmce computer with no tuner?"
With an external USB tuner...
Terratec makes a few that works perfectly..
cndmovn @ Feb 22nd 2006 10:32PM
Looks fantastic to me...not hideous!
Ihar `Philips` Filipau @ Feb 23rd 2006 5:25AM
Are this people reading forums??? What about machine for $500?
PC industry is always living on hype. I love the way Apple does things for consumers: it doesn't over hype them with modern buzzwords, funny performance numbers and technical counters... I understand them all - but it's just so [CENSORED] boring to dig-up what's really undercover.

"7. does it have a tuner?? how can this be a wmce computer with no tuner?"
Ever heard of ATI's All In Wonder series?
croky @ Feb 23rd 2006 1:57PM
Too bad i can't make this baby my next linux media box. The X1600 is not supported by ATI in linux (really, linux-ATI drivers are a joke). Guess i'l try to find something with nvidia chipset ...
kimo @ Feb 23rd 2006 6:45PM
i need one for each of my employees, NOW!!
