CableLabs working on CableRoam, "cable" without the cable
Try and get your head around this one: CableLabs, the forum
of cable-industry players who make and enforce standards for said industry, are apparently working on integrating
existing and future wireless standards into something they can call their own. Yeah, pretty funny, right? Supposedly
dubbed CableRoam, it's expected to provide alternative home and city-WiFi and WiMax service for cable company customers
who in a couple years probably won't be as satisfied with their fixed-line video and Internet services as they are right
now. It's a brave new wireless world out there, so what are CableLabs gonna be called sans "cable?" Would it
be Labs, or perhaps just The Labs formerly known as Cable?[Via The Wireless Report]

I think it should be called "we're desperately and pathetically trying to come up with a 'new' wireless standard so that we can keep our massive profit margins with the advent of free wifi in many areas Labs"
I love your snark, Ryan.
now, call me crazy, but I believe ive heard about this before. If im not mistaken, someone's already done this. Oh yeah, its called satellite tv. (sorry, i just had to point out the obvious.)
How about, "We're Lubing up the Broom Handle for You So Bend Over Labs."
TLA, unless you're being snarky yourself, thanks!
Best, Ryan
i think it's more similar to wifi networks in asia that provide cable tv to wireless.
