After purchasing the DSC-H2 in February, due to illness I was unable to use it very much until late this spring. I have taken pictures with two different SLR's, and although the quality of the H2 may not be "up to snuff" with either, it takes nice pictures. I find that the camera takes excellent pictures, but, all to often, it is the printer that does not make a good reproduction. I convert the JPEG format of the camera to a TIFF format and raise the DPI before printing, and I get excellent results. I am not a professional photographer, but I do appreciate good pictures. The H2 seems to just exactly fit my needs.
I read complaints about the stabilization feature, but I found the one on my camera worked perfectly. A picture of the moon and Venus at 24 X showed not a wiggle when I held the camera free hand in taking several pictures. That is pretty good, considering my senior adult status.
For those looking for a device strictly for reading, the new Kobo is a nice little option. It's small enough to slip into a pocket, can do more with a PDF than the competition, and at $129, it's $10 cheaper than both the Nook and Kindle WiFi.
