Sharp pumping up LCD production by 20%

LCDs are more popular then ever and Sharp is stepping up to the plate. They are pumping up the production of said flat panels by 20% at one of their major Japanese facilities. The plant is increasing from 51,000 to 60,000 LCD sheets per month that are then cut into smaller sizes and distributed.

These panels would be used for ether Sharp's own brand of LCDs or sold to other TV manufacturers. Sharp excepts the LCD demand to increase to a whopping 80% this year in the US alone and they plan on being prepared.
