We'll admit, there's not a huge amount to say about
the
Apple iPod Hi-Fi. We'd
heard this was coming, and it's caught our attention namely because it's Apple's first true foray into the iPod
accessories market, along with their
new leather iPod cases. We did get a
good listen in some of the rooms Apple set up on campus to demo the sound in a "real world" environment (our
fav was the teenager's space, replete with dirty laundry strewn about), and yup, it sounds pretty good. You know how we
wish it was, well, a little less iPod-centric for being a regular old piece of consumer electronics and all, but hey,
you know how they play the game. So how's the thing feel? Well, let's be straight up, the Hi-Fi is heavy. Like, way too
heavy to want to carry with you to the cabana or the beach, as they described you might despite its alternate six D-cell

After all the crappy comments on here I was very reluctant to purchase this system. Fortunately I waited long enough that the local Audio store (no names to mention I dont advertise for free) Had the bose,Klipsch, altec, and about 25 other units on display and ready to demo. I brought my Ipod down with everything from barbara streisand to Snoop Dogg on it (including classical) and plugged it into EVERY player. I played songs for three hours. Well just like the guy a couple blogs up I was purchasing this for my boat A 19 foot Jet boat with no room for a stereo system. I will give credit to Bose and Klipsch for their AWESOME sound for the more classical line of sound (beethoven sounded the best on BOSE, Klipsch spanked everyone on ghigh quality) But lets face it this system doesnt replace your home stereo and if it does you live in a cracker box! However for the great sound of rock new age rap and all around pop music, this Hi-Fi kicks everyone down bar none. You dont hear hardly any bass out of bose or klipsch but this little box bumps away for what it is. Also for you morons that left a comment because you wanted to join the bandwagon and never listened to it or picked it up... well it sounds better then you in the shower and in case anyone wonders .. it weighs 12 lbs with batteries!
