AXIA launches A308: "world's smallest" Windows Mobile phone
Malaysian manufacturer AXIA is claiming to have the "world’s
smallest PDA Phone on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 featuring WiFi connectivity," in their new A308 device. At
0.8x1.9x4.5-inch the phone is a tad larger than the HTC Tornado Smartphone, but the A308 goes for full PDA
functionality with its 2.2-inch QVGA LCD. Along with the WiFi, AXIA has crammed in Bluetooth, EDGE, miniSD, a 1.3
megapixel camera, and a pleasantly fast 416MHz Intel CPU. Looks good to us, world's smallest or not.

Now that's one hell of a ugly phone
Paul @ Feb 28th 2006 3:51PM
Looks alright, but will probably be obsolete when it hits N. American shores.

Goddamnit, what does this have to do with Apple?
jacob @ Feb 28th 2006 4:02PM
brian what the hell is your problem? the world doesn't revolve around apple, now does it?
aelso @ Feb 28th 2006 4:12PM
Jacob, I think Brian was being sarcastic - synonymous with online comments. The Apple keynote today was really fantastic.... I'm SO excited about the new iPod Hi-Fi and $99 leather jacket....
Seriously, this phone is not that ugly, though the design seems pretty old-skool.

That ok and all but the smaller the phone gets the smaller the screen gets and thats not a good thing.

fast cpu + wifi = skype and cheap to free calling whenever possible. To bad the HTC has a slow 200 mhz one. Any one overclock their tornado?
Nader @ Mar 2nd 2006 1:12AM
We use this phone to play our multiplayer roulette game and it is awesome! our engineers play on wifi when they are in the office and then EDGE when they are away with the same ease. Cool PDA phone... Even though it is a little bigger than smartphones, it is fast as hell and the battery last longer even with Wifi!
