Sony Ericsson W300i quad-band Walkman with EDGE

Sony Ericsson brings the love in heaps today with yet another little handset hot-tay, the W300i which first came to our attention as the Mulan/W530. This quad-band EDGE clamshell expands upon the Walkman series by offering all that MP3/AAC playback goodness in a compact design with integrated VGA camera -- yeah VGA, which sounds even worse after SE's earlier announcement. The W300i ships with a 256MB Memory Stick Micro card and features a 128 x 160 262K color TFT main display with a second 1-inch 101 x 80 display for viewing track info and caller ID when the flip is closed. The W300i features dedicated music keys as you'd expect from a Walkman in addition to a shuffle function, flight-mode, up to 30 hours of music playback per charge, Bluetooth, and RDS FM radio. The W300i measures in at 90 x 47 x 24 mm (3.5 x 1.9 x 0.9-inches) and 94 grams (3.31-ounces) and will be shipping in Shimmering White and Shadow Black starting Q2. Lots more snaps after the break.

So this thing has removable memory sticks (micro ones anyway) but my W600 doesn't? I thought only the more expensive ones like the 800/900 would have that feature, now it looks like every one except the W600 will.

THat kind of sucks :(

At first look the black version looks stunning, seriously. But then once opened, the inside looks kind of ...I don't know. Anyway, I'd love to see the same exterior design make it to a similar phone with QVGA and BT 2.0. FM with RDS is a nice touch too. I can see we're moving in the right direction as far as what consumers are looking for in a mobile entertainment device and what manufacturers are providing us with, but we're not there yet. I�ll wait. Or get a Motorola ROKR E2.

Omigoodness. It looks pretty awesome on the outside, but not THAT bad on the inside. I agree it looks pretty toyish, though.
And man, you are right about the slot thing. I also have a problem in my ears that I can't put those type of headphones. One side is perfect, but those headphones don't fit in the other! It's because I lay on one side of my momma's tummy for too long. But I digress.
I realized that this was a pretty cool phone, and wanted to get it when it comes out, but now I realize that there is not even a point to the music since I can't listen to it. The ear buds would just fall out! And one would go "Hmm...nice phone" and when I open it to take a call, theyma go "Woah. Is that a toy? I think I heard it ring! Must be going mad."

about that plug ... there is an adapter to a mini plug, and about the memory ... ITS SONY ... IT WILL USE SONY MEMORY STICK'S!!! if you want a motorolla, or anything else, buy it ... i like SE ... i like the style and everithing, and about the camera ... do you really take pictures with a camera like that? ... or with a camera with 1.2 Mp ? ... that sucks, if you want a good photo, take it with a real camera, not with a PHONE! ...

I had the Z520a and it was a nice phone until the damn thing started turnin itself off and it didn't have poo for memory! So I bought the W300i... this is a great phone. It comes with a 256MB memory stick and I found a 1GB stick on MobilePlanet. The walkman is sweet, great sound even with the supplied headphones. I love the way it looks and it's real easy to use you can even make your own themes!!! I highly recommend this phone!!!!

It's a great little phone. Clarity of calls is great, incoming and outgoing voice quality is supurb. Speakerphone and ringtones and music sound great on this phone. If you need a camera buy a real one. I wish it didn't have a camera at all. have any of you bashers actually used it. I doubt it. Sum up try the thing before you bash it.

i have this phone, the black one.and it's reallly a good phone. in the past year and a half ive had 8 phones. but this one i like enough to keep. it was worth all 285 bucks :)it has a phone radio ad local radio, and phone tv. it also has a feature called musicID where you can put the phone up to a radio or something and it will tell you who sings the song and what song it is. i don't know about yall but i love to watch wheel of fortune and when i found out this game was already on my phone it got me even more hype. neopets are on there too,but who plays neopets?
