GPS, TomTom GO 910, 710, 510 GPS units with 4-inch widescreen display
TomTom has updated its Go series of GPS units with three new models, the 910, 710 and 510. At the high end,
the 910 comes with maps of Europe, the US and Canada preinstalled, no doubt for those drives from Alaska to Russia
across the Behring Strait. It also includes text-to-speech functions and a built-in MP3 player. All three new models
come with a 4-inch widescreen touchscreen display, a dock for quick connections to a computer and an optional traffic
info receiver. All models will be available in April; pricing has yet to be announced. Oh, and Steve, it'll work with
your iPod.

maybe think yourself lucky you cant find one: I bought one for £400 a
few months ago from Staples (OK, I know better now). It just died on
me, but because I bought it more than 28 days ago(sic), Staples dont
want to know, you have to talk to a rude, unhelpful TomTom call
centre in Ireland, who make you do various moronically obvious checks
before posting it back to them: will I ever see it again? do I care?

Can someone help me. I've recently purchased a Tom Tom 910 in the United States 4 weeks ago whilst on holidays and it performed brilliantly. Now that I've returned home to Australia I want to acquire the latest Australian maps however when I log onto the TomTom.Com website and endeavour to acquire the Australian Maps, the Tom Tom website indicates that your can acquire Australian Maps - but the actual website does not list the Australian Maps on the Shopping List. I've tried just about everything, logged in correctly, indicated the model number, I've backed up on my laptop- but the Tom Tom 910 shopping list outlines just about every other country but not Australia. If someone could put me out of my misery I would be deeply grateful. Thanks, John L 17th June,2007
John - I am facing the same problem - with a GO 510. If you have found a solution please let me know. Thanks, David
John
I'm having exactly the same problem. TomTom help must be on an extended holiday because they have not responded to three E-mails for help. They have a summer sale (funny it doesn't feel very summary here at the moment) and maybe that has something to do with it. The Aussie maps are outrageously expensive and maybe they do not want to discount them. Let me know if you get any result.MarkL
Dear Mark & Demci,
I finally got thru the Tom Tom Office phoneline to a real person and I was informed that the new Australian Maps will be released in the next couple of weeks. I was also told that they might be expensive (over aud$300) What a stupid price! - the US maps are sold for under $100. Howeve they said that the new maps might be released cheap on a special promo. Lets hope they drop the price by at least half- otherwise I might sell the Tom Tom 910 on Ebay to a US citizen. So keep your eyes alert to the release.Regards, John Lockyer (Sydney Aust)
I'm relieved to know it's not just me having problems getting Aussie maps - I bought a 910 in the UK last month. And, yes there is NO REPLY to emails to tomtom! If I have any success I'll let you know.
try Ryda.com - they are in sydney and have a great online live help department to answer your questions. I bought my tomtom 10 from them and I'm pretty sure they can sell the maps too.
I live in the UK and i am coming over to Oz soon.
I have also been searching for the Australia map to put on my Tomtom 910. Have you had any joy
Hi all,
Finally got a response from Tomtom about the disapearance of the Australian maps. They must have eventually put their Heiniken cans down and did some work. Response below.
Sorry for the delay in response to your question. The Australian map has been removed from the web store for a few weeks whilst it is updated to the latest version. Please check the website again in 2 weeks time at which time the map should be available to purchase.
With Best Regards

I am interested in the Tom Tom as the 510 model i have been toying with has been very useful. I am interested in purchasing a model that can be tracked via web as well. Are any of the Tom Tom models this sophiscated, if not any suggested products that do both?
