It may be a little later into the
evening, but our pal Nick B's got what seems like an increasingly timeless question he wanted to ask
Engadget:
I get really crappy cell reception in my apartment, but if I step outside the door, it's fine!
I've held a cellphone party, and it seems to be a problem for every carrier! Does the Engadget world have any
suggestions to increase cell reception in my apartment?
There are plenty -- and we do meany
plenty
-- of cell-signal booster devices out there, but what would you recommend to ensure Nick's pals can hear him now?
Anybody have ideas to improve bluetooth reception on cellular phones, (bluetooth booster?) I get annoying crackling sounds if I get my bluetooth headset farther than 12 inches from my Siemens SX66 PDA phone. I have used the higher quality Jabra and Motorola headsets with the same annoying interference. Even an "in car" booster would be welcome since that is where I really need to use the bluetooth headset.
I've mixed opinions about those things (golden stickers). I have used them on 4 different cell phones. One I could tell a difference and it worked (gave me a bar when I normally wouldn't have one) then I've tried it on others that it didn't help... the one it did work on was a while ago so maybe they only helped out the old phones. Anyway like a lot of people are saying if it's cheap then you won't be out much if it doesn't work, but I wouldn't really expect this to solve your problems. What you need is an external antenna that can help bring the outside signal inside... seems pretty obvious to me considering your phone works fine outside. A lot of places have dead air, where cell phones loose reception, either because of something shielding the signal or just the loss of signal in that area. It isn't an Area 51 story - but who has cell phone parties? I mean really... sorry random thought Anyway look into finding an external antenna you wither hook your phone up to it or it helps bring the signal inside.

Thanks for sharing this post. This is a very helpful and informative material. But Sony Computer Entertainment Japan just got official with its PlayStation-branded SOCOM Bluetooth headset (model CEJH-15002) we've seen bouncing around since June. Set for a ¥5,000 (about $46 tax inclusive) release on October 30th in Japan along side SOCOM:CONFRONTATION, the Bluetooth 2.1+EDR headset with noise cancellation will automatically pair with your PS3, making it ready for games supporting on-line chat like SOCOM and Resistance 2 coming November 13th Good post and keep it up. Websites are always helpful in one way or the other, that’s cool stuff, anyways, mcsa certification a good way to get started to renovate your dreams into the world of reality.
Thanks

Mrs.Lisa:
There are many major manufacturers out there. I got a Digital Antenna for my boat, but I heard Wi-Ex and Wilson Electronics are also pretty decent. The best site I found that had a decent selection was http://www.repeaterstore.com
