Samsung's SGH-i310 8GB Windows Mobile 5.0 musicphone
Sometimes, just sometimes you do get what you ask for. Introducing the SGH-i310 smartphone from Samsung with
8 freakin' 8GB of capacity. Not only does this latest object of our lustful ways double the capacity of their previous
i300x musicphone, Samsung has
also bettered on the OS by (finally) dropping in Windows Mobile 5.0. Not just that kids, this pup also throws down a 2
megapixel shooter with flash, video recording and playback, TV-out, and microSD slot if you just gotta roll larger than
8GB. You also get USB 2.0 support for moving those AAC/MP3/WMA files on the quick and Bluetooth with A2DP stereo audio
support if those built-in dual-speakers just ain't cuttin' it. On display starting this week at CeBIT with release (in
Europe) during the second half of ’06.

Andrew T @ Mar 6th 2006 7:51AM
Bad news...
(Price)
Honestly, I dont see this thing debuting for less then 700-800. I wouldent be surprised if they hit the grands...
(Battery)
Yea. Those ipods dont do amazing with it, and well a phone wouldent do any better. If your planning for music use, think about it...
(Hard Drive Risks)
Ever dropped a hard drive? Ever dropped a phone? All my phones are cracked, damaged etc....So, yea
not for me...
Ill stick to SE...

They announce this phone now? The i300 has just landed in retail not long ago. Talk about instant obsolescence.
PEZ @ Mar 6th 2006 8:13AM
It seems the more capacity you get, the fuglier the phone becomes! I like a big butt just as much as the next weirdo... but you gotta have a nice face, too!
If that makes sense. :-X

Hey, 8GB? Is it hard drive memory? Or what Andrew T is trying to say by "Ever dropped a hard drive?"

I sorta did make an assumption, but based on good reasoning...
SGH-i300 and SGH-i300x were both hard drives...And this thing looks pretty thick to me. with flash I think they could have made it much thinner.
I love this phone and i think its really cool, but that hard drive is a huge turn off. like i was saying, dropping hard drives isnt good at all, and it could easily be screwed up and can be costly. im not sure if all of you drop of your phones or not but I do.
David A @ Mar 6th 2006 8:53AM
Of course it's a harddrive. 8GB in Flash would be very expensive. And i think Mini-HDDs, e.g. MicroDrives from IBM, are very shock-resitant. Unless you throw your mobile out of a window from the 7th floor there is no need to worry.
Rabia @ Mar 6th 2006 8:57AM
Looks a great phone, any idea when will this be launched in India and what will be the likely price.
veniex @ Mar 6th 2006 9:37AM
I want one!
x @ Mar 6th 2006 2:31PM
Does it have touch screen?
interlard @ Mar 6th 2006 11:42PM
OK, so would SOMEBODY please upgrade Vindigo to work on WM5?? Or come out with a competitor?
Jeez...
Orneta @ Mar 7th 2006 10:15AM
All of the news has stated Hard Drive, however 8 Gig flash is posible. More than likely it is a Hard Drive like the previous Samsung with a 4 GB Hard Drive.
Anita @ Apr 13th 2006 3:28AM
I like the i310
when its coming to Indonesia....
Frank T @ Nov 18th 2006 12:30PM
Samsung hit the jacpot with the design of i310, its one if not the most beautiful candybar phones i've seen. I wouldn't be surprise if the price of this phone is in the grands, for just a 1 gig memory card sells for $70 and this phone has an 8 gig memory, 70 times 8 plus the price of the phone if it didn't have the hardrive memory
pravin @ Feb 10th 2007 1:55PM
please tell me price and its availablity in india
