Scoble: I have seen the future, and it is Origami
We tried. Really
we did. We wanted to limit today's Origami posts to the one we
ran this morning. But
we can't resist the lure of Robert Scoble, whose haiku-like pronouncements on what Origami isn't graced our
newsreader a little while ago. According to Scoble (whose sources at Microsoft are, of course, impeccable), Origami
isn't an iPod killer, portable Xbox, OQO killer or PSP killer. So, what exactly is it? Coy boy Scoble isn't
telling, though he says he's seen it, and that he'll buy one with his own money. We assume he won't be forced to do
that. He's more than earning his keep by feeding us these infuriating snippets.[Thanks, Kyle]

sorry, how old are you.. if $600 is too much for a 4X speed boost, you've got bigger problems than measuring your manhood on a gadget blog.
Get a job.
Maybe?
PS. Methinks you won't be affording MS's new Newton either, so don't hold ur breath on this one.
I think this is hot. It's all about being small, but not pocket sized. A High res screen so you can use it like a laptop. Portable, but you don't need to lug a whole laptop and bag around. Just hope it doesn't cost a fortune.
Would be nice for wathcing these vids. They are also from the microdosft geeks and suprisingly are pretty amusing

Origami... Origami... Origami... one for me please
ive seen it :]
and alot of my friends have also
it was shown at the senior show at artcenter college of design (ACCD)
by a graduating student of fall 2005.
so we all go to see it around december in the last week of our fall term.
Being a long-term user of the now discontinued handheld PC range, I am really excited about the prospect of a modern replacement. As long as it has a useable keyboard, instant on, and at least a day's battery life, and of course, not cost and arm and a leg, I will be all over it!
And the Alexandria video linked by post #34 is very intriguing. Is Microsoft creating its own on-demand TV store?
This one looks really cool, can I get one please?
NOT OQO killer? Why? No keyboard? Or no hard drive, but some ebmedded XP tablet? Or no cpu, but some wlan terminal?
And what happened to Paul Allen(was it?) idea for a laptop that could start in semi-powered mode (for email, mp3 etc browsing)? Maybe origami supports it?

I appologize if this has been posted before
3. Why is anyone excited for anything microsoft makes? This thing looks boring.
Half the designers I know, use PCs, and the other half-Mac. So, unless you are a designer, you Mac users do the same pedestrian tasks that a lot of PC users do.
Looks aren't everything.
Al the infuriating features of Windows, in a new more portable package. Now you can take your grief anywhere.
