^ I agree Bob Rutherford & Metric. Sorry for helping spark this stupid B.S. I make one comment to someone else.....and there's at least 5 other Windows advocates that have to go and attack me.....and I'm the one that needs to take a pill?!
"Vets: Calm down! Seriously, the whole OMGZ APPLE INVENTED THE DESKTOP BEFORE MICROSHAFT is childish and getting old really quickly."
No it's really not getting old......children these days are growing up thinking Microsoft is King SH*T and was always this great company, people need to know the truth. The reason I commented so rudely is because Others made a comment about something he clearly knew nothing about, he even replied bashing me, not commenting on his knowlegde of Korean markets.
"I'm sure that because you use a Mac and don't have to install security updates you are super-inteligent. Use that new founded inteligence to invent a machine that can surgically remove your head from your ass."
Wow, I'm sure because you make comments like this you are the smart one eh?! I never said Mac users don't have to install security updates, we have to install them just the same-except to stay ahead of problems not to try to fix ones that we're already dealing with. Actually I've always been smart, it's not just newfound. My dad is a genious and has been a doctor/surgeon for over 40 years, he has had a Mac since the beginning. My sister is also a doctor and she has always used Macs. My Brother is Physics/Math teacher in Toronto and he has used Macs. I graduated from high school with a 95% average and I've used Macs from the beginning. See a trend here? Plenty of other smart people I know use Macs, most other 'average' people use Windows.
"Vets, You need to take some paxil, so you can calm down a little.
I know several people that live in Korea, in Seoul actually, and none of them use any apple products, and didn't hear about your precious iMac."
Gabe I wasn't asking you if you knew anyone from Korea......so why don't you mind your own business-you ignoramus! So you know a few people there...ooohh, does that that speak for the majority?! I highly doubt you even asked your Korean "friends" any such questions. If they are your friends they probably have the same attitude towards Macs anyways!
"One other thing both Windows XP and OS X suck, and no one was every trying to make Windows seem better."
You're right....but Others made an uneducated comment about Apple/iMac and I replied, that's all.
"but to use Linux you have to have some amount of computer knowlege, and it looks like you don't, so if I were you then I would go near it."
So you conjecture I'm not computer savvy from one post I made on a blog? (by the way you said I should go near Linux-implying that I really am smart, Thanks!) Actually I prefer Darwin over Linux-sure you can argue that Linux is better-but Apple is not stupid(as much as you'd like to think) they chose to use Darwin for a reason. I use the Terminal on a daily basis for unmounting drives, checking contents of files, changing file owner and group, displaying the differences between two files, etc.
"I was clearly talking about Apple being the company smart enough to advertise the iPod on TV, the iPod being a DAP, and not a PC. So please, keep your stupidity to a minimum."
Sorry, I didn't mention in my post that I was implying Apple was not the first company to advertise a DAP on TV! Where did you get those facts---your arse? There were plenty of MP3 players out before the iPod, flash based as well as huge dard disk clunkers. The iPod got popular because it was the only one that was revolutionary(amazing funcionality-clickwheel/hard drive, and beautiful design/look/materials) not because Apple was the "Marketing Monster" that many of you uneducated people seem to think.
"I also didn't say anything about Microsoft, but I guess since I dont like Apple, I must love Microsoft. I'm actually a fan of the Commodore 64"
Yes, we're all sure you use a Commodore 64 for your daily computing tasks-anyways...... So what system do you use today? huh? (let me guess....a Dell with XP installed) Let me know if I'm wrong!
"I'm making the point that the iMac was never popular. It wasn't popular despite how loud you yell, because you can tell by how much money Apple made back then, and where the revenue came from."
Yeah, and I was trying to make a point that they were. They were very popular, get that through your 5" thick skull. Just because they didn't sell as many as iPods or say Dell desktops, doesn't mean they weren't popular-besides what do you know eh?! They surely made enough money from the iMac for them to make a risky jump into the DAP market! Now they've made enough money from the iPod to jump into the speaker/accessory market!
"So quit hiding yourself in the closet and admit that you're an Apple fanboy and understand that everything you say is biased, and the average consumer don't really care about it."
Why do you idiots stick to your "fanboy" B.S. Am I really hiding in the closet if you are pointing me out to be one?! Think about your stupid comment! So everything you say must be biased too right?! Sure I love MOST Apple products, but if they make something I don't like I'm obviously not gonna support/buy it! Morons. Also, whose the average consumer? Adolescent gamers?! NO! The average consumer should care about the iMac (and many do & will stay with iMac for good) because it is (in my opinion) the best 'affordable' desktop money can buy.
"The iPod got popular because it was the only one that was revolutionary(amazing funcionality-clickwheel/hard drive, and beautiful design/look/materials) not because Apple was the "Marketing Monster" that many of you uneducated people seem to think."
I have to partially disagree with you there. It's naive to think that the iPod was successful soley due to its features. And honestly, none were revolutionary other than its click-wheel, and I don't consider its slick design to be a feature. There were plenty of players then that were just as easy to use, and with better features. They just didn't look as pretty.
Apple's brilliant marketing campaign had *a lot* to do with the iPod's success. It was hip and cool to have one, and the fact that it was (and is) the prettiest DAP of them all, really made the iPod the success it is now. If you ask the average consumer what other mp3 players there are other than the iPod, I doubt they'd even be able to name one.
LOL Vets get a life man. Stop defending yourself with 3 posts in a row. It's just a DAP.
Having EJAE one of NYC's biggest graffiti writers to help promote the i river, definately makes me want it even more....his handstyle tags are amazing
sorry fanboys, but the "i" in iriver has no relation to ipod or apple, it stands for "internet" as in "internet river", don't ask my do give you any sort or korean to english translation, and all you puppet fanboys can continue to pay a %40 percent markup on you rudimentary apple hardware, and I'll continue to pay %5 percent for mine. you're a bunch of puppets for the system.
"Oh.....one more thing! Do you think Apple is the only computer company to advertise on TV?! Wow you really are a moron." I'm a university student, and I can read idiots like you. You cannot even remember what you previously have written yourself, and you come criticizing me on my posts. It's ridiculous how stupid you are, and I am truly sorry if you are over the age of 16. When I say I'm a fan of the Commodore 64, that's that, it does not say that I use it for daily purposes. Of course, being the average Apple fanboy you are, you're just a little kid who has an average IQ lower than 90. I cannot possibly expect you to differentiate between the statements. Also, I already told you that Apple use to make all their money from their savings, and not selling Macs, you should take that into your thinking before telling me that Macs are popular. So before you go on again with your childish behavior and language, you should sit in the corner and think first.
Wow, what a dumb argument. I can't believe I actually read through all of that. You people are missing the point of the main story. This Iriver is going to kick ass.
This is just a test:
http://www.google.com
lol Vets got "owned" hard by so many people here, he couldn't even defend himself with 3 long posts.
Vets: "Actually I've always been smart, it's not just newfound. My dad is a genious"
Too bad you aren't smart enough to spell genius correctly, you dumbass. You must be the shame of your family; I know if I was related to you in any way, I'd be ashamed.
@ Cassiopeia : jerome posted, "erm....iRiver was in fact just "River" for the first couple of years of it's life. The i came directly from the Apple "iEverything" boom. And that was told to me by iRiver's UK PR manager."
I don't know the validity of this statement, but it sure as hell makes sense. Yes I did look into how the company was founded smart-ass.
"Reigncom's CEO, Mr. Yang told a tv program about how he named his mp3player brand. Iriver means Internet+River which means the flow of internet."
Did he also mention that Apple came out with the 'iMac' just a year before iRiver was founded and that the 'i' in iMac also meant internet?! Don't you think if Mr. Yang is so internet savvy he would know all about Apple and surely would've heard about the iMac. I know you may be proud of your country, but face it-they stole the idea, just like dozens of other companies are doing now. They were just one of the first ones to do it.
"Besides, Apple computer doesn't even have a single percentage market share in South Korea's Personal Computer market."
I don't doubt this, but show me a link to the stats, for all I know you pulled this one outta your ass. I know the iPod market share isn't that great over there either, because 'Korean consumers want players with as many controls, features and coloured lights as possible!'
@ Cassiopeia: also(as mentioned before) notice how very similar the layout on the back of the iRiver is to the iPod.
^ yes and I'm sure you've never made a typo in your life o rly!
"Origin: Greece from the word "genus"
Often misspelled without the O even in many dictionaries.
It is the only correct spelling.
'Albert Einstein is a genious.'
Only geniouses spell genious the correct way."
hehehe
Frankly, it is a known trait of several "geniuses" to have poor spelling or to be dyslexic. "The genius of Albert Einstein is legendary. His gift of intellect, world renowned. He was, by many accounts, a dyslexic. A dyslexic of distinction, if you will. The original Absent Minded Professor."
o rly: it's funny how you can be ashamed of me if you don't even know me. Why even bother posting here, your comments did not contain one bit of information related to this thread, stop being a baby-I didn't get "owned"! You just posted cause you found a spelling mistake: you should be proud. For your information English was always my worst class:I'm bilingual by the way. (even though I graduated with 88% in grade 12 advanced English) I graduated with high 90s in all math/science related courses including 96% in Physics. So please keep your ignorant comments to yourself, at least I know all the people I care about (and the ones that actually know me) know I'm not a dumbass, and that's all that matters. I wonder what your family and friends think of you?! If they knew you go on blogs just to harass people I don't think they'd think too highly of you. Later moron. I'm deleting this thread from my bookmarks bar so please save yourself some time and stupidity, I'm sure everyone else here is fed up of reading my comments as well as yours. If you're going to comment at least comment on the thread topic please. Good day.
Sorry Vets, but you're an idiot. You've proven that here many times over. You can try to defend yourself with a long vacuous post about your great marks in school, but you will only continue to embarrass yourself as you can't prove any of it, and to be honest, no one here can see it (we do however see your stupidity). Your family must be so proud...
Everyone steals from Steve Jobs & Apple, just look at the back of the layout of the v10, they copied it off the iPod; they actually somehow did this before the iPod was ever released if you look at the back of older iRiver products. Not everything is ripped off of Apple, but you fanboys wouldn't know that, you probably think Apple created the letter "I" ...iDiots
btw Vets, this is the part where you try to redeem yourself from "ownage" by posting 3 long worthless posts about the origins of a word, the history of your family, and the history of your marks, none of which anyone cares about...no wait, he's not coming back here anymore. In that case, good riddance from Engadget Vets, you dumbass.
i like it, Saddam would use it in prison.
Cool device but that antenna screams break me!
