Samsung's YP-F2 2GB pendant MP3 player
Samsung has yet another
flash-based player on display at CeBIT – the YP-F2. Like it’s F1 sib, the F2 is a pendant
style player (barely) tipping the scales at a slight 21g. Still, they manage to pack in up to 2GB of flash memory and
12 hours of playback from your choice of MP3, WMA, OGG, and WAV audio formats. The 512MB drops this April for about
$105 or $227 for the 2GB. Sorry, no FM tuner on this model Flave, for that you’ll have to wait for the YP-F2R
also expected later this year. Get more of ur freak on after the break.

looks sweet.
first
The guy holding the gadget has got ugly looking finger, look at his thumb.
I really hate it when people spell "your" as "ur". But perhaps I'm just being pendantic.
reminds me of the ipod flea! teehee
seriously though, why no aac? I ripped a lot of my music into iTunes with aac encoding and its just too hard to do it again. But I am in the market for a small flash player, if the price and styling is right...
You know they can treat leprosy now. There's no reason to walk around with decaying thumbs like that in this day and age.
zoara: I agree with you. It dosnt take much to spell out the entire words when you take a look at what letters peopel leave out.
Anyway I like the "dice" (wait thats plural) MP3 player form mobiblu from walmart still at 2GB. mm.. and its cheaper also! :)
#6 Before agreeing with anyone about missing out letters in words, I would take a close look at your own comments first.
Dude! Your poor cuticles!!!

#3 Did you mean pedantic?
#3, are you some kind of moron, or did you not see the name of the song playing on the black player at the top? Or did you take this as a forum to spout off about how many rap and hip-hop artists spell things phonetically? I think ur head might explode if you ever listen to Sly and The Family Stone song "Thank You" I will spare you the subtitle spelling, as it coould kill you.
An the word is pedantic, not pendantic.
I think this player looks very cool. Samsung is really coming on strong, I think. Kind of like a new Sony. I like it.
PDubNYC, chill. I think it was a joke.
pendant... pendantic... get it?
Sheesh.
Britney spears? come on
I'm chill. And You're right, I missed what I guess was a pendant joke. my bad.
$100 for the 1 gig. Sounds great for use during my workouts and it's more of an spherical shape so it won't jab me like the mobi dice did before it cracked in my pocket.
LOL IMHO :)
Does anyone know the specifics of how files are transferred or how the unit is charged? USB type A connector or specialized cables?
I have been reading this site for a long time and while I love it I do have a criticism.
To place this in context I have to explain why I'm quite pissed off right now.
I recently sold my 4G iPod and wanted to get something smaller for my workouts that I could use for audio books. I have done some research before finally settling on my choice but in the weeks beforehand I read every article here regarding existing and future DAPs. I wanted to know how the community feels about this and therefore read all the comments. I have actually been reading comments for a long time but lately they have gotten much worse I think.
I clicked in this particular article to read about people's ideas and suggestions as they relate to this and other DAPs but instead I get people bitching about cuticles and spelling...grr.
I'm not sure if Engadget uses a moderator system but please do something to make the comments more usefull/informative/relavant.
I realize I’ve just ranted a bit but...umm...tough I guess...
Hey,
I have a YP-F2 and the Smart Media Software 4.1 is crap. Does anyone know if there a more user friendly version, in English?
