Xbox exec denies existence of 1080p gaming for the PS3

Sounds like a bit of sour grapes to us, but Microsoft's Director of Game Tech, Scott Henson, spoke some rather doubtful words about PS3's 1080p claims in an interview with Kikizo the other day. He states: "I think 1080p, just to address that directly, will be basically impossible. I think if you talk to any developer they will tell you that they will not have a performing game at 1080p." Obviously full speed 1080p games will be a hard mark to hit early on, but it seems a bit brash to state that no one is going to figure it out over the PS3's lifespan. Henson also discussed the potential for Dashboard upgrades and non-Media Center video streaming, but didn't seem quite as confident on those points.
