Mitsubishi announces networked LCD HDTV line
Yeah,
yeah, we know Mitsubishi may not be the first name you think
of in flatscreen TVs, but their Japanese unit's got some new models out today, and they're nothing to thumb your nose
at. Their new 37-inch H37MX60, two 32-inchers, the H32MX60, H32MX55, and 26-inch H26MX60 have 1,366 x 768 panels,
digital terrestrial tuners, an EPG (with Ethernet), HDMI, VGA, composite, S-Video, and component inputs. You know the
drill when it comes to Japanese gear, but we're dropping this one off because we think it's nice to know the Bish's
still got it, y'know?

So, could I use this as a monitor? 'cause 26 inches of HDLCDTV would look damn fine on my desk! And how would this compare to a 30" Apple Cinema display? Would it be worth it to have an HD monitor? Could I play HL2 in HD? I'm very new to this stuff (as you can tell), my main course of study is biotech, and this stuff is much more complex.
what is interesting about the displays is the mention of "EPG (with Ethernet)" - I believe this is related to HANA Alliances specs on networkable HD in the home. In this case, the GUI controls and video stream are sent over Cat5 via IP. Nice.
