Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
For, like, the fifth time this week: Engadget, please catch on... there is no such thing, anywhere in the world, as a consumer plasma display under 50" diagonal with a vertical resolution of greater than 1024. None. All panels in the 37-42" range are either 1024x768, 1024x720 (very rare), or 1024x1024 (Fujitsu/Hitachi ASIL panels). All of them. This is a STANDARD resolution; the pixels can't be made smaller right now (until Hitachi mass produces their 1080p prototype). You should either dispassionately state it, or trumpet an announced product with a better resolution; but please stop knocking every plasma in this size for having this resolution. They all do. Deal with it.
1024x768 is just right for a 42" display. Anything more is overkill. Processing is what makes the picture at those resolutions, not pixel count. When you are viewing the display from the usual two meters distance, 1024x768 is indistinguishable from higher resolutions.
i guess i don't know if there is a pixel shape difference or not between a 1366x768 lcd screen and a 1024x768 plasma. i would assume there would have to be in order to maintain a widescreen aspect ratio on such an unwide resolution as 1024x768.
i'm guess its not strecheed weird, and the image is maybe almost comparable, but where is all the additional resolution going??? from a 720p or 1080i/p signal....
I think everyone is missing the real issue here...these are made by UNIDEN. Don't they have enough on their plate making second rate cordless phones?
gfar-uniden makes great homephones, i have a homesystem right now and it's running smooth w/no glitches and an ample amount of features. good product.
the firsd thing i though was apple display.
HI,
I have just purchased one 37" white, I dont know whether I'm over the moon about the buy. Can anyone shed some light into their experience with the LCD models?
