"Internet Renaissance Robot" shuns chores, entertains instead
Ah, just
what we needed, another way to digest media floating around the interwebs. This time it's a robot that wants to present us with info, but instead of merely reading text off
of an RSS feed or blaring a few music streams, the ITR bot works with its very own "RTML" language to present
media with motion, voice, and emotion. Of course, this means content developers will have to create RTML content to be
displayed by the humanoid bot, but it's an interesting concept at least, and we look forward to seeing what happens. We
can't say we're as optimistic as the Speecy Corporation, which dreams of the ITR being fifth major form of household
media after radio, TV, PC, and mobile phone. The robot itself runs on a NetBSD-based OS, houses 168 LEDS, stereo
speakers, a USB port, and a miniSD slot.

So what is the RTML tag for "kill"?
That's hott! Something to replace Aibo maybe? I wonder when/if we'll see it over here, and for how much $
It should be the work of, what, five minutes in PHP to create a script to convert XML to "RTML". Excellent, now I can have a dancing robot shouting to me about fanboys and Engadget's suppsed Apple/MS/Intel/Creative/Sony biases when it parses the comment section.
No, Afterthought, what it really needs is an attractive leather case.
Hell Yes! ;-)
Why are its arms made out of dildos?
Added value, of course. "Entertains," I see. A proper ladies' man, er, robot, that one should be.
what about a human robt? pretty or handsome, entertains, and does chores!
MiniSD? Do they really need to save space on such a big gadget?
Now why the heck would i need one of these? What new thing will it bring like the tv, radio, pc and mobile phone did?
This'll flop for sure...
The device is not attractive enough. All they need to do is put a fuzzy teddy bear suit on it, and make sure it can gesture and emote like Bill Shatner. Excellent!
The name "RTML" appears to already be used by at least two markup languages. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=rtml&btnG=Google+Search) Maybe they should pick a different name, unless they are planning to license Yahoo's proprietary language.
what is rtmt?
Is RTML only robotic language?
