Datel XSATA connects Xbox 360 to PC via USB
That 12GB partition on your Xbox 360 not doing it for you? Datel -- the company that's carving
out something of a niche with console storage peripherals -- has what looks like a unique solution. The XSATA connects
to your 360 and your PC, letting you back up your console data to the PC, freeing up space on the 360. Once your 360's
content is on your PC, you can also email unlocked files. Oh, and it has a blue glowing LED base, just 'cause. Expect
to pay about $40, which is a lot less than you'd pay for an external drive for your 360 (though if you must have one,
Datel would be happy to oblige).

Can you transfer video files from your PC and play it on xbox360?If yes,in which video format?
Hamson @ Apr 11th 2006 5:53PM
Wait, so is this still just for music and such? I'm waiting for a cheap alternative storage for game demos and saved games and all that.
danielcrocker10 @ Apr 11th 2006 6:20PM
Can trailers be ripped onto PC? Because I like to archive that sort of thing for future generations (I already have HD video of 2 cancelled games)
Tyler McPheeters @ Apr 11th 2006 6:23PM
This is sweet, it looks like it replaces the drive on the 360, so "backing things up" might be hard without the drive with the stuff... But interesting nonetheless.
David @ Apr 11th 2006 7:29PM
You can back up anything on the Hard Drive to your computer (themes, Arcade games, gamer pics, trailers, etc). However, most of this content is digitally signed and cannot be modified and put back on (but that would be sweet, wouldn't it?). You can keep backups of everything, including gamesaves.
oshean @ Apr 11th 2006 7:36PM
It needs green LEDs, other than that nice product.
embassy @ Apr 11th 2006 8:22PM
so wait...so can save game data and backup XBLA titles etc..but since its digitally " signed" u cant put it back on the HD...??...so how is that beneficial..??..or am i missinn somthing..? cuz this sounds intersting..but if u cant put stuff BACK on the HD i see no point.
portwineboy @ Apr 11th 2006 8:26PM
blue LEDs are SO 2005.
Navstar @ Apr 11th 2006 9:18PM
I agree... Blue LEDS?! Isn't the Xbox360 still using that Borg Green color scheme?
Garriq @ Apr 11th 2006 9:22PM
So maybe with this, along with Action Replay, one can finally load Xbox saves to 360? I do NOT feel like playing through Nightfire again.
Lt_Ladle @ Apr 11th 2006 10:04PM
7 misunderstood 5... you can backup data like gamesaves, but if you moditfy them, you can't put them back on the 360. otherwise you could download gamesaves and maybe things like things and XBL cheats...
mike jones @ Apr 11th 2006 10:26PM
so how about adding stuff like modded game files that arent digitally signed for powning people on halo2, which i cant and havent done, cause its illegal. and of course wouldnt do
Jacob @ Apr 11th 2006 10:52PM
9: "I agree... Blue LEDS?! Isn't the Xbox360 still using that Borg Green color scheme?"
Actually, I find the combination of Blue and Green to be rather appealing in that sense...
(But yes, Blue LEDs are extremely overrated.)
gimmeadollr @ Apr 12th 2006 12:18AM
maybe we should add a disco ball and a fighting robot and a moniter that doesn't display anything just for the heck of it...
maybe the light should flash? like a bunch of different colors! woohoo! party!
hdd @ Apr 12th 2006 4:51AM
Does anyone know if Datel has provided some nice interface for barking-up files to PC are are we supposed to just drag files from 360 disc as if it was another PC hdd?
Jim N @ Apr 12th 2006 10:10AM
Well this is nice and all, but what would be really nice of Datel is to develop an interface item that would allow me to plug any USB hard drive into it so I could have a huge HD instead of this crappy little 12 gig hard drive. But I am sure that is against some Microsoft policy or licensing agreement.
It just really gets my underwear in a bunch paying $100 for a 12 gig hard drive.
Little Head Thinker @ Apr 12th 2006 12:51PM
This a cool interface! It creates a network path from your 360 HD to your PC. What you do from there is up to you. If you know anything about files and tranferring files, this is very exciting. Hey 16, read the description again, this is not a hard drive, it is an interface. And where did you get the $100? If you are referring to the hard drive Datel sells, again read the description, it says you can hook up any drive to the 360. That one just says XBox and has the graphics on it. LHT
Scott Johnson @ Apr 12th 2006 4:40PM
This is nice! The 12GB drive is plenty of space for and probably will be for as long as I have the 360. But I sure would feel better about purchasing content on XBLM if I could back it up. This device should give be that reassuring feeling. :)
Mavrick @ Apr 17th 2006 6:27AM
This item is described on the website but no where in the store. Damn. Its gonna be sweet to get rid of that damn final fantasy demo.
Hey if that demo disc floating around the internet isnt signed shouldnt the hackers figure out how to load unsigned code via the use of this device?
Brad @ Apr 17th 2006 2:11PM
will this work with my mac?
Josh @ Apr 30th 2006 9:35PM
