BenQ's E310 and C510 digicams
Looks like BenQ's got some new digital cameras today they were too ashamed to announce during the week. They ain't
much to look at -- and probably aren't so hot to actually use -- but if you're one of the "fist adopters"
BenQ claims to be going for here, you may want to avert your eyes. E310 is your basic 3.2 effective / 5.0 interpolated
megapixel CMOS camera with a 1.5-inch LCD, and power source; the C510 is a 5 megapixel shooter with a 2-inch display
and 16MB memory. Both use SD AAA and AA cells (respectively), and rock it old-school USB 1.1 style. Don't expect to pay
too much for either, but don't expect to get too much out of your purchase, either.

BenQ are learning to make good products. Here is Taiwan, they are very famous for a lot of electronic products. They start with medium technical features until they now the market, and then it's time to realize high specs products... But you know that, don't you ;)
These type of products are solid gold for a company. Release a cheap-to-make camera that has half-decent specs and sell it for cheap. Then watch all the money roll in from the casual Wal-Mart shopper that skips over the expensive Canon for a cheaper BenQ...
Cheap to make and selling it cheap don't always add up to profits and repeat customers.
Hey, I bought that E310 a year ago when it was a Vivitar.
There is NO difference, besides the name.

if you've got a couple youg kids and want a cheap digital camera around and it wouldn't ruin your day if dropped or broken - I think this is a great little pick-up
when i think benq i think bengay...who the hell would name their products after a guy named ben anyway.
least name it after a hot looking chick for christ sakes...
Samsung and the now defunt GoldStar {now known as LG} used that marketing plan in the 1980's., they released a bunch of crappy products sold cheap at Kmart and Wal-Mart. Then duting the early 1990's they kept a low profile then emerge stronger puting all that cash into a diverse line up of high-end products.
