SeaGrand ez6 copies CDs to SDs and USBs
If you're still buying your music on shiny round discs and want to rip it on the go, the ¥19,800
(about $169) SeaGrand ez6 seems like a relatively painless way to get it done. Put a disc in the portable player, plug
in a USB drive or SD card, and rip away. Of course, you won't have the usual conveniences of Gracenote integration and
ID3 tagging, but if you, say, pick up a CD in an airport kiosk and need to get it onto your digital audio player by
flight time, this will get it done.

That's pretty sweet. It's funny that all of these cool gadgets are so small, but I still have to carry a backpack to carry them with me.
The RIAA must love this one...
The delkin usb bridge will do this and a lot more for FAR less money. Basically hook up a usb in, and usb out - and it will transfer from one to the other.

Really? If you're going to carry around a device that size, why not just carry around a cd player???
Yeah, carry a cd player with you too, even better one that also plays mp3 cds. Leave the ripping to be done at home when you can use whatever format you want and have gracenote integration!
I agree with the size comments - Hows this: make a MP3 CD player, with the ability to burn the content to multiple types of memory formats. Or, at least SD, miniSD, MMCmicro, and USB. At least the first 3 are adpater supported.
This is just plain goofy, as-is.
Considering the fact that it has headphones depicted alongside of it, I would guess this IS also a cd player.
This would be a nearly ideal companion for a vacation to Malaysia. If only it could do DVDs too...
Just pop on over to the used CD store and cut loose on whatever you want...
YESSSSS ive been thinking they should make something like this for months cause i hate going on trips and buying cds and then not being able to listen to them on the longride home, too bad it mostlikely dosnt work with the ipod which is the device i was thinking they should make, and for the size comments last time i checked did 2 disposeable batterys last as long as most mp3 players with built in batterys?
If you're dumb enough to pay the premium on CDs sold at airports, you're dumb enough to buy this.
If you have your laptop and iPod with you at the airport (and most do), doesn't it make more sense just to rip the CD onto your computer directly, and get the benefit of CDDB/easy track name editing? Plus, an SD card and USB port both imply computer use in the future, so why are you effectively adding this middleman?
How silly.
