Now this is a funny prank on Best Buy

This has nothing to do about HDTVs. Well it kind of does and yes Ben, this is a stretch. But this is a great prank. 80 people dressed up in blue polo shirts with khakis paired with a black belt and black shoes and went to a local Best Buy. They of course brought in hidden cameras and from the looks of the pics, they blended right in! These "agents" were instructed to go "wait for their friend." This caused a whole bunch of Best Buy looking people just standing around doing nothing. Eventually they got kicked out when cameras were found but this is just great.

Dozens of people in a blue shirt and khakis milling about and unable to answer my questions...
So basically it was like every other day at Best Buy.
Thanks for pointing me out as the HD natzi on HDBeat!
This happens to me every time I wear a blue shirt into Best Buy, sometimes when I have a different color on. I have to say a few times, "I am sorry I don't work here" but then follow up with "What is your question maybe I can help". They are especially surprise of my help when in the TV section.
I'll bet the "agents" knew more about HDTVs than the BB employees.
After talking with a BB employee it is possible to actually know **less** about electronics than when you walked in.
Many of the Best Buy employees know almost nothing or wrong things about HDTVs. I heard one employee talking to a couple looking at some HDTVs and he was telling them that 1080i means 1080 x 1080. I couldn't help but interfere and told him, that if what he is telling is true, then the TV would be square. He would not accept my claim that 1080i is 1920x1080 interlaced generally.
!!
Remember, not ALL Best Buy elmployees know nothing about TVs. My Home Theatre team knows of AVS, uses it to answer questions and generally gets training on the technology in all the new products when they come in.
Anything less would be unacceptable. We do pretty well - and we have a boutique store across the street and a Circuit a few blocks away.
YMMV from store to store.
That is sheer brilliance! Those cops didn't think it was funny (but cops never do, which is why they're cops), nor the store manager who claimed that her civil rights had been violated (! -- I wonder if she's surprised that that's not a crime :-)), but I thought it was hilarious! Thanks for pointing it out!
