Medion's UK-bound MD 20099 32-inch LCD
While we can't vouch for
the quality of a 32-inch LCD making its debut at Toys 'R Us locations around the UK for under $1,100, the specs on
Medion's upcoming MD 20099 don't look half bad. The Medion offers a 1,366 x 768 pixel display, 1000:1 contrast ratio,
550cd/m² brightness, and even an HDCP-capable HDMI input, along
with dual-tuner PIP, split-screen text, and built-in 20-watt sound system with five-band equalizer. Again, we're not
sure what to expect from the performance of this model, but if you happen to be in a British Toys 'R Us at the end of
the month when this model is debuted, make sure to leave your impressions in the comments.

i could be wrong, but isnt saying hdcp compatible hdmi input redundant? arent all hdmi ports hdcp compatible? isn't it only dvi ports that need to be clarified?

Medion TVs at Toys R Us seems even stranger than Medion stuff at Aldi grocery stores here in the States. That said, I have a Medion scanner and it's nice and cost less than any of the other 'name' brands.

Yeah, I can vouch for the quality of Medion gear. I buy lots of it and nothing has let me down, quality or performance wise.

I was just at the Medion USA site after reading this, and was somewhat surprised by their "dealer locator"...
It's just a link to Aldi's website!
I guess that means it's an exclusive distibution deal, and if these make it to the US, you'll have to bring $1200 in cash to an Aldi on a Monday morning to get one!
If these are good, It could be worth it...

I found I good quality SOYO 32 inch lcd tv on www.geeks.com for 797.99. I bought one myself and it's awesome. I don't know what the big deal is about an $1100 LCD TV.

I will yet again confirm that Medion that wacky little german company puts out good stuff. I've had a medion pc for 3 years and it all good. They never go near top of the line but it is all solid and reliable.

I'm sure Medion stuff is usually sold via Lidl or Aldi last year. Lots of excitied posting on avforums until people had a chance to use the screen. I'm sure the thread to to over 150 pages and basically most people for refunds. Spending on a Samsung for only 50 more and getting a much better product.

I got my Medion notebook from Aldi. Only negative there is Aldi doesn't accept credit cards. Also, I've seen some of the newer Medion notebooks at Best Buy.

Target has a store branded (trutech) 32 inch lcd panel for 999.99. Not sure on the maker.

We brits get royally shafted on pricing so $1100 is good for a 32"

i had this tv for 19 days and the picture went very strange and unwatchable. medion said they would replace it within 48 hours, they didnt, then they said it would be here the next day, it wasnt. this after a total of over 60 mins on the phone to them.
this tv may be flawed and the customer service it absolutely rubbish
