Sony Ericsson V630i 3G musicphone shows up in UK
Sony Ericsson keeps cranking out the high-style musicphones, and the V630i looks to be the latest edition to the line -- for UK Vodafone customers, that is. The phone, which eschews the Walkman branding used in other recent music-centric models, includes 10MB of internal memory, Memory Stick Micro support, a 176x220 display, 2 megapixel camera, trimode GSM support, and A2DP for Bluetooth stereo output. In sum, it reminds us a lot of another recent Sony Ericsson, the W810i, which has a similar feature set, but lacks A2DP (and that alone, of course, makes this one a new fave).

why oh why did i sign that contract with sprint?
that phone is the best looking SE phone i've seen.
i'd give a couple of limbs to see Vodafone US so i won't have to use a dodgy sim card from Cingular.

ma5yk @ May 23rd 2006 11:12AM
Hey... they brought back the TALK and END buttons! Someone *finally* smartened up at SE.
Jamaicanbwoydre @ May 23rd 2006 12:05PM

F*** Apple, F**** iTunes, seriously, the iPod has become an device for lame "me-too" losers. The iPod is overplayed and overexposed, and required iTunes is the Real Player for the new millenium. Please anything but iPod.

This is probably a walkman version of K800 since it has the camera for videocalls on the front.
give me my n73 now. kthx

aAmusicphone with a measly 10MB internal memory? I'm sorry, but that's completely pathetic, my k750i has 35Mb built in, and you can whine all you want that the phone has support for external memory; so does mine. No self branded 'musicphone' should have such a low built in memory. Plus you only get a 256mb card with it. So the first thing you're going to have to do is go out and buy yourself a larger card. Dissapointing SE, very dissapointing.

Looks lovely, though I'm reticent about the size of it; at 16.7mm, that's as thick as my current fatboy N70, which is just TOO FREAKING HEAVY >_
Chris @ May 23rd 2006 7:04PM
Looks like a Walkman version of the forthcoming K610i, the specs and size are near identical.
Yem @ May 24th 2006 2:08AM
^^ that's what I was thinking. The K610i has been "Coming Soon" since February - perhaps the launch is imminent.
Fredrik @ May 24th 2006 2:53AM
It rather looks like a Vodafone-version of the K610i. The specs are identical.
Asiaphile @ May 24th 2006 4:55AM
Maybe I would buy it if they had a pic of a hot looking asian minx holding it up.
But seriously - orange and red do not, and never will, go together. Very much clashing colours. Bad bad. Luckily that an be changed with a diff theme (it had better support themes).
Also the website indicates no camera light (handy for using keys in the dark), no WAP browser, and no fricken FM radio!! Is that because A2DP conflicts with radio reception. Why can't I have a phone with everything!!!
I want answers damnit!

I have really become converted to these phones, and I think they are fantastic. I currently have the K750 and I love its music player. I have a 2 gb card and about 35 cds on it.

I got one of these after my w800 went for a swim and have found it quite dissapointing. No camera light. No using my own mp3s in a playlist or for ringtones and no fm radio!

I have a v630i but my music player looks quite different..
