Asus' R1F Tablet PC passes FCC
We've all been waiting patiently for Asus' first foray into convertible Tablet PCs, but from the looks of things their R1F passed FCC muster. Which means, of course, we can't be too long now for the widescreen, Core Duo, and biometrics-equipped R1F to make its indubitably expensive self into the hands of American consumers everywhere; joy.

Very useful for people who are not good at typing: You can see your keyboard even if you're looking at the screen ;-)

glossy screen? Gee. unless one day all the paper become glossy, i will never consider a tablet with glossy screen. after all, the only reason for you to buy a tablet is to use it as a "notebook" not a "notebook computer"

You would think that in winning the building contracts for Apples Macbook line Asus could make a half way decent looking product. The design here is FAR WORSE then the Apple books. Nice try but no American consumer with sence will be buying this...

Don't mind DS. He's a troll who happens to love Apple. A lot. It's weird.

i just ordered one. i will get it in 1 week, it cost me $2600 with a 2gig ram 120 hd and 2.14g processor. i cant wait because all the tablets out there have no strength. i believe that tablet is the next wave to wipe out standard laptops but as of now none of them could really compete. they are not currently avail for usa but i ordered it through a company in australia. i wonder why mac hasnt made a tablet? very true there design is much sleeker. after i took one apart to sell it as parts for a friend i realized why i didnt buy one. besides i want to save all of my good pc software. dont wanna spend another 3 grand to load my mac.
i tried to order some of the hot swap bays such as the extra battery pack or extra hd but asus said they have not even begun to stock there accesories. from the sound of that i would expect to see the r1f in the us market for at least another year. ill let everyone know whats the scoop when i get it in my hands.
