Xbox 360 owners eagerly waiting to see if "HotGamerBabe" really lives up to her handle now have a solid date for that first exciting face-to-face meeting over Xbox Live: September 19th. That's the day that Europe and the US will see a simultaneous release of the
Xbox Live Vision camera, according to well-known gamer-cum-Microsoft employee Major Nelson. The Major did not reveal, however, what pricing will look like for the cam, which is meant for video-conferencing, video emails, and profile customization.

So there's gonna be no games for this cam? :/
DJ @ May 30th 2006 11:09AM
Yes, there will be games that will utilize the camera. Uno is already out on arcade, and has options already in there for camera settings.

There are definitely games for it. Uno already supports the camera, and Totemball will be using it heavily as well.

yes some games work with it already, also MS showed off some tracking software for it at E3 (or rather a company that has signed an exclusivity deal with MS) that means it can actually track things even down to individual finger movements they hope this may give the 360 Wii like capabilities

Oy.
How long until the little kiddies just train this camera on their exposed groins and make their avatars and in game cam views just constant penis?
They already just sit on Live swearing and yelling, this is only going to make it worse.

I'll pass on the web cam.

Where the hell did you get my picture?

Also don't forget the "face in game" functionality that will map the side, quarter and front of your face to put your 3d likeness on the avatars.
Also some cool things MN was talking about on his podcast:
- The visualization while playing music is interactive via movements the camera sees
- Dashboard background can also be interactive with a few effects distorting the color/picture based on movement
- Personal gamer picture that only friends can see both on xbox.com and via Live.
- picture attachments to Live messages from the camera
- full windows support for camera (this is cool because if the price rumor holds true ($20), then that's a nice high quality camera with NO DRIVERS to download)

as it costs $$ for a live account and MS can easily boot you off I doubt this webcam will get quite as much abuse as MS messenger etc

dzieci - the sony have admittedly stolen the idea of xbox live... get over it man, plaigarism is the only way here really!
and this is going to be waay waay different, they arent just going to be releasing stupid games to work with it, they are making it compatible with LOADS of games! =D
