iPod or drinking: students prefer iPod

We can't say that we're really surprised, but it would appear that this year's hundred-university student survey conducted by Student Monitor showed the iPod to run the show in terms of student desireability, even more so than getting soused. It's the first time in almost ten years that something besides drinking has reigned atop the survey, but we have to admit though, drinking has the odds stacked against it. We'll see what happens to the Apple's sweet spread when we lobby the government to raise the minimum buying age for iPods to 21, now won't we?

And I can't stand the word, "podcasting" since me and my friend were doing so well before podcasts. Back then they just called them mp3 shows which is what they are.

This is not a surprise. It is a known worldwide fact that American lager tastes like water and Americans often complain that foreign beer tastes better, is stronger and of a better quality abroad.

Now that American students have put their country's lager in second place [to an iPod] only confirms the worldwide view on American lager. Oh dear.

Sheeeyit.. I love my ipod. Im far from a student. and i looove getting drunk. i was in a bar last night and took my ipod off when i walked in . i thought it would be rude to keep it on. Obviously i can see that school of thought going out the window with these young shiitheads too. so i picked a few pints a guinness over the ipod. this is in riverdale ny. (bronx)

I don't know how or why people would want an Ipod more than booze, but the survey is never wrong. Now give me a Archos AV 500 or a Cowon A2, and I would look the other way. But an Ipod? In my opinion, an Ipod is a waste of money, you can get any good MP3 player for 1/2 the price of the Ipod with all the same capabilities(and probrobly more!).

Bottomline, in my opinion, the study shows that everybody has an Ipod, and it's getting old. Period.
Get something new and stop idolizing the Ipod.
