AMEX's i-Talk Nano VoIP Phone
Our friends at AMEX took the occasion of Computex to debut their oh-so-cleverly-named i-Talk Nano VoIP phone. Seriously guys, we're just dumb with amazement at your marketing staff. High fives all around for that one. The phone ain't too bad either, but it's not like there's a lot going here. The phone can work with nearly all VoIP software, including Skype, and operates over USB 2.0. No drivers are needed on XP or Mac OS, since this is about as basic as it gets for VoIP hardware. We do like the look, but we'll leave it at that.

In terms of design, just the iPod nano? What about the Sony Ericsson T630/K750i? Look at the keypad, and the fonts used.

Holy brand-name encroachment Batman!

This is going to end up like the domain name squatters problem. Companies are going to start adding an "i" before everything. I wonder when the iLitigation and iTrials will start.

My phone and mp3 player had a child! It totally is the nanoized K750!

Wow! This is just what I need. Really. A Skype travel phone that requires no drivers on either Mac or Windows. Is this for real? I hope it is available before July 7th

Apple weren't the first people to put an i in front of another word to name a product.
I like the name personally.

Look, Im the last person you would call an apple "fanboy", but this is a clear case of copyright infringement...

Im thinking this is the reason everything is being changed to Mac*****.

The black gloss and the screen def looks like a NANO copycat.

Call it an iRipoff

Nice try, guys, but this has a long way to go to catch up to apple in terms of design and build quality. Just like every other POS out there, I think i'll pass.

BTW:
Creative used the Nano name first for an MP3 player, Apple stole it from Creative.

With a brand like AMEX and the size of the nano it's IMPOSSIBLE to leave home without it.

"Companies are going to start adding an "i" before everything."
Err, they did already. A good while ago. :D
"I was gonna say.. isn't "Nano" an Apple registered trademark?"
Nope! It's a prefix in the metric system. Even "iPod nano" isn't explicitly counted as one of their trademarks (http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/appletmlist.html), just "iPod". However, with the iPod family's mindshare and Apple's marketing clout, "nano" is indeed becoming more and more easily associated with the iPod nano.
