"I was gonna say.. isn't "Nano" an Apple registered trademark?" Nope! It's a prefix in the metric system. Even "iPod nano" isn't explicitly counted as one of their trademarks (http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/appletmlist.html), just "iPod". However, with the iPod family's mindshare and Apple's marketing clout, "nano" is indeed becoming more and more easily associated with the iPod nano.
