Sure, it's nice to feel that rumble from the game controller, but wouldn't it be better if your ears were doing the ringing after a crushing EA Sports-induced blow to the head, instead of your hands? Why not try on a pair of these itan ITN-VR10 headphones from RWC then, which vibrate in your ear (like a mosquito?) in reaction to what they perceive to be a large, booming force. These buds feature a standard 3.5-millimeter mini-jack for connecting to your favorite handheld game console and will last about 15-hours off battery. Available in Japan starting June 26 for about ¥3,980 or $35.

this is a great idea! i also wish someone made a toilet seat that vibrated every time i dropped, what it perceived to be, a huge deuce.

Terrible idea, IMO. If I try to make a call on my cell phone and the line is busy, I can hit retry. When I do that, once the call actually goes through the phone vibrates to let me know it worked. More than once this has happened while the phone was up to my ear, and it was not a pleasant sensation. I can't imagine something that is actually INSIDE your ear vibrating, no thanks.

I think this is an okay idea, i just don't know how the earbuds will know when to vibrate, do they vibrate all the time or even at the right time? who knows.

I think it's stupid because it will feel like a bug is in your ear and it could vibrate right out

I used to have a pair of gaming headphones (earmuff style) from Radio Shack that vibrated when deep bass was present. They were actually pretty cool. I don't think these would provide a satisfactory bass sound though, and being actually inside the ear canal that seems like it would be really annoying.
Jamar @ Jun 15th 2006 11:35AM
I had something similar from Japan by Audio-Technica. No, it does not feel like a bug in the ear. What it does is allow you to feel deep bass sounds, and it feels like a small earthquake inside the ear (forgive me, this is the closest I can describe it and it's not as bad as it sounds.)

Isnt the point of buying headphones not for them to rattle?
Neal Saferstein @ Jun 18th 2006 4:07AM
This is a really cool idea.
