Samsung's BD-P1000 Blu-ray box released early
After all those oh so familiar Blu-ray delays, we're glad to report that it looks like a little something came a week early for at least one lucky HD buff in Arkansas. Dude cruised over to Best Buy and was able to pick up one of two Samsung BD-P1000s just sitting on the shelf. Nope, it's not the first time -- nor will it be the last -- that a retail release date was "inadvertently" broken by a store, but it's not really gonna do dude a whole lot of good since the movies aren't out yet. Seriously though, do Blu-ray and HD DVD really have to go tit-for-tat on everything -- including unintentional early release? Get a room, you two.

I think I'll just wait till it gets around $300 like DVD players did or I might even buy a PS3. But I'm leaning more to reserving a PS3 and selling it on Ebay for $1K to take advantage of crazy parents buying little Johnny it for Christmas.

vince - love it !!
you should reserve as many as you can afford and make some big bucks !!
as for me iam a poor student and will be lucky to even be able to afford 1, maybe its a gud way to spend my student loan.
but deffo buying a ps3 forget 360 or WII maybe nxt year when the fall out from the launch means cheaper prices.

Oh, that's pretty funny. Was that here in Little Rock or elsewhere in the state?
I, uh... need to know. For... important reasons.

I work at a Best Buy in NC and while we are getting the Samsung BluRay player's in, they are to be on display only until the 25th at which time we are allowed to sell them. Big OOPS! for the guys in the Arkansas store. There were specific instructions sent via the BB In-Store newsletters to DISPLAY ONLY AND ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SELL until the 25th! Anyhow, I'm just glad a BluRay player is finally here.

I had planned back in May to buy one through HiFi Buys semi-annual private sale. Unfortunately, it was never released and HFB (Tweeter) refused a raincheck. I could have gotten one (had inventory been there) for $900.
Now I'll just wait for the PS3 and not be getting from HFB/Tweeter.

Why not sell the movies before the system comes out. Sell games before the console goes on sale. The anticipation for the gamers would be hilarious.
