I have seen DLP in action but sony's rebranded version of LCoS technology, how does it compare?
Are there any commercial theaters that operate 4k projectors yet?
I was thinking, maybe the future is a unified 2k/1080p resolution for both theaters and home displays.
Bah. At first I thought "4K" meant $4,000... An 18,000 lumen projector for $4,000 would have rocked.
That's exactly what my first thought was too K.
I think I'll double stack a couple.
A picture of this new projector would be nice, what's with the 2 broken links to the left of the older projector's image?
That picture is the projector, and this is painfully old news. Sony has been demoing this thing at show west for the past three years. I don't know how many commercial installs there are at this exact moment, but I do know there will be one at the Regal Meadows 12 in Littleton, CO before the end of next week.

I shudder to think about what the price for replacement bulbs must me.
Holy smokes! That is one heck of a projector!
I'm going to have to sell my (and my parents) home from one of those!
