Twinbird's waterproof MP3 player frame
Japanese manufacturer Twinbird, who seems to have a thing for gadgets in the bathroom, has introduced another product we're sure someone has been clamoring for, although we can't imagine who. Their Xzabady (or X Zabady, perhaps) is a waterproof frame for an MP3 player or other portable audio device that's designed, naturally, for use in the bathroom. The frame, available in either white or black, packs a single rear speaker with two "reflectors" and a built-in FM tuner, which can be used on its own without an MP3 player attached. You can also customize the frame by inserting your our picture. Well, you could if you could actually buy it -- this one looks to be Japan-only for now.[Via Akihabara News]

Do you really need a MP3 player while you take a shower/bath? If so you take to long!

To understand the relevance of this device, it helps to know that in many homes in Japan the entire bathroom IS the shower. In other words, the walls are all waterproof and there is a drain in the floor. So, there is a showerhead on a hose somewhere and you step into the bathroom to have a shower (Saves space). So, if you like music in your bathroom in Japan, it better be waterproof.

RJM: So where do you hang your robe?

Or you could just do cheap crappy shower radio and ipod with itrip and preset playlist in next room

You hang your robe over the hair dryer...on the far end of your wife's side of the vanity.

Also many, if not all bathrooms in Korea are one big shower with sink and toliet included.

Maybe the Japanese should build a man made island so they can have real showers. That's just ridiculous. Or maybe they can colonize Mars or something. And have UV proof MP3 picture frames.

MP3 Players or iPods? and couldn't they make formfitting cases? Sure they wouldn't be able to support as many models - but they would still sell more because they wouldn't be hideous and huge.
