Motorola's P970 dials up USB power
Of course Motorola would most prefer you buy its new Portable Power P970 battery pack to power its own devices -- not all of which, ironically, posses mini USB ports to draw power from -- but that doesn't mean you can't use their freshly minted 1700mAh device to charge up that handheld, media player, GPS unit, or whatever else it is you might have that could use a quick hit of juice. As for phones, well, we'd like to think more than Moto, HTC, and smattering of others would get their act together on mini USB ports in our wireless devices, but it's not like the P970 won't have its uses otherwise.

I can't tell: does it plug into the wall? How do you charge *it*?

Motorola needs to come up with better designs.

So bassicly i charge this brick thing, and when myu battery runs out then i wap this in my phone to charge it? Sees a good diea but i might aswell carry another battery around thast fully charged, less weight and size!

For use with the PEBL? Motorola really should have put some sort of iPod adaptor on this, then i'd sell really, really well. People could use it with their iPod and Motorola phone.

I thougth it was handphone at first glance. Obviously, they need to change it to a better design other copy from PEBL...

Justin, I think it screams another four letter word.
UGLY!

That mini USB port on it, is the charger for all of motorola's fashon phones. They only have one external port for charging, your headset, computer connection, all that jaz. So it is giving it power, not sucking it with that port. RAZR and PEBL i am 100% sure only have that one point, I have yet to own a SLVR.

I do not like this. I would like my friends' / colleagues cell phone to plug into my phone (via USB) and loan me some battery power

Can the mini USB port on the PSP draw power? This would be nice if it could....

The RAZR has mini usb on it. That's how you connect it to a PC without Bluetooth.

Hey Ryan ... "posses" is the plural of "posse" ... you know, a group of folks gathered to go do something. I think you're after "possess".
