Koolance's pricey Xbox 360 cooling kit
We're not sure what type of person would spend as much on cooling their Xbox 360 as they spent on the console itself, but the folks at Koolance must think they're out there, buried under bags of Doritos and aging laptops in dank cellars; probably why they're releasing a heavy duty liquid cooling kit for the hefty sum of $394.99 US. The kit (available in silver or black) includes Koolance's Exos-LT cooling system, CPU and GPU liquid blocks, an AC power adapter, and mounting hardware for the Xbox. However, Koolance is quick to warn that performing the necessary modifications to your Xbox is "not for the faint of heart" and that it will certainly void your warranty, meaning that there's a good chance you'll inflict more harm on your console by messing with it than a little over-heating could ever do -- and you'll be stuck without a way to return it. Par for the course though, right?[Via Joystiq]

hey you guys the 360 gets heat problems if you keep it in a closed tight place. with the new falcon motherboards it is less likely. I think that the people from koolance(company that makes it) are like me. My friends would come over and shit themselves when i brag about a watercooled xbox 360.
I'm going to get the liquid cooling stuff separate and build it into an old 360 case.........with HD DVD drive included.............
The picture shows the cooling unit on top of a core 360. You would think one would have the money to buy a premium if he has the dough to shell out an extra $400 to buy this thing.
Thats just stupid.
James, Kiilance caters to 'those kind' of customers.
They could have at least made it white and curvy to match the 360.
That's horrible, I would rather have the console to burn to hell than putting that boxy piece of *** on top. With the price of one of those I'm covered anyway.
confuciou, the EXOS LT is sold for computers, and it's highly based off the design from previous EXOS systems, just smaller.
Both units are extremely ugly.
completely pointless
I can't think of a reason to OVERCLOCK the 360, which is the ONLY way anyone could justify purchasing this accessory. (Unless you're trying to play in the middle of the desert in Iraq) ;) The system doesn't run that hot... it only needs a little more airflow, which could be accomplished with an exponentially less amount of cash.
I'm pretty sure that picture was just taken so you could see what it looked like. I doubt an actual user would buy the cooling system and not the premium 360. I really don't see why you'd need a cooling system. If it's that much of a problem with your 360, you might want to call the bomb squad or something, 'cause it ain't a 360 you're playing with there.
why? its not a computer now.... sheesh thats just stupid. people will not play games for 10 hours... or will they. i think thats stupid.
No offence, but Engadget needs more writers. I sent this in about a week ago.
thats f'n so ugly!!!
Ok Why Should Xbox Owners have to go and Buy a Cooling System? Is the Cooling Problem that bad? it looks Horrible.. that thing looks like a Car AMP. I hope Sony is Learning of this Ugly Mistake and Dosen't make the PS3 with Heating Problems...
Awesome, Just another reason for me to buy the 360.
Yes it probably is good in cooling the system, price tag is jus way too much, to answer who can run a 360 long enuff to burn out obviously hasn't played Final Fantasy XI. If ur not playing that game cooling the system is not a problem.
