Samsung's new SyncMaster CX913P 19-inch LCDs with crazy swivel action
We're not quite sure what kind of neck problems would be required or caused by the use of these "freedom without restrictions" 19-inchers from Samsung, but they look pretty nice all the same. The CX913P LCD comes in white and black, features a 6ms response time and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. There's also a USB 2.0 hub, which looks to reside in the base. The displays seem to be available now in Korea for W490,000 -- about $511 USD.

All I could think of when I saw this was the old iMac commercial where the monitor would "look" around. Now I want Samsung to make a commercial where this thing walks up to an iMac and tilts its head back and forth to crack its neck, scaring the iMac away.
If i could buy just the iMac 20" screen (or maybe larger) i would.
This is one step closer, but damn those lampshade iMacs were designed well. I still use one at work and for more applications, that swiveling is freakin' perfect.
I got the exact same feeling. I saw that image and I thought "iMac." But this is strange, normally companies steal Apple's design right when the technology is released, like most recently, Dell's integrated webcams. I wonder who gave them that idea? :P
Eli - Sony did. As much as I am the worlds greatest apple fanboy - sony had webcam-integrated notebooks since late 2004. I remember goofing around with one at the Sony store as early as December 04.
These things are pretty kewl looking, but still mondo expensive. You might not believe just how hard it is to get the right viewing angle, distance, height and so forth of a monitor when you can't adjust the chair much (like at work). These monitors would help out tons in that department.
Poopmaster, is your office floating in zero-g???
I love how Samsung is always innovating in the TV arena.
P.S. she's kind of cute ;)
.
I demand a remake of Luxo Jr. !

I had a webcam integrated vaio that came out in early 2001...

My ProStar (Clevo) laptop has a webcam in it, and all Clevo laptops have had webcams in them for a long time. I doubt they were the first, either. But they sure had it before Apple.
I (a 13 yr old Apple fan boy) know Apple doesn't create everything, just Almost everything
and the price is too xpensive
I'll just stick w/ a VESA mount for my hopefully soon to be 20in Apple LCD
Nice product, but don't think many will use the feature. The monitor is only 19 inches, not big if you hva 2-3 people around the monitor.
