HTC Trinity revealed?
We've just spotted what purports to be the HTC Trinity, and while it's looking quite a bit different (and a bit less sleek) than the last time it surfaced, the specs are just as spiffing. The Windows Mobile 5.0 actually doesn't look too much different than HTC's Hermes, with the main addition of GPS and some reworked face buttons. There's 64MB of RAM, 128MB of ROM, a 2.8-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth, WiFi, EDGE, HSDPA and a microSD slot. Just like the Hermes there are VGA and 2.0 megapixel cameras, and the phone is similarly slim at 0.7-inches thick. No more info as to when this will be out, and we can't say we aren't disappointed about the fairly generic look, but there's always a chance (hope) this report is a bit off.

The image looks like a Photoshop render.

It says "Brand" on the top-left part of the PDA. If that's not generic, I don't know what is...

Could it be the 'Herald' and not the 'Trinity'? I thought Herald was due to come out next?

I think this is a step in the right direction - it is thinner than my 6700. I think they'll have to do a couple of things to really get it right this time though.
1 Should not exceed .5" thick
2 VGA RESOLUTION! - browsing with anything less is bad
3 Refine the BT unit - if you hold your phone, it reduces signal quality significantly!
4 Improve the batter life but not at the cost of speed

I want one! I just sold my i-mate JAM and now missing having all of my appointments and contacts on one device.

This looks like a stretched JAM with a terrible kepad layout. Maybe somebodies attempt to come up with a possible HTC Prophet successor.

The new button placement is nice, and the spec sound great. However, should we wonder if this device is destined to be a stopgap until newer more inovative devices come along?

Mobile review says that it also has a GPS-module.
is that true.

Missing: VGA resolution, FM Radio.
Hope they fine tune the quality of the camera since picture quality on HTC Wizard blows.
I'm okay with the size but were hoping they'd cram in more RAM and ROM.

I see you're a Nokia fanboy, heh.
I wouldn't knock it till you've used it for a while.

Trinity does not have a microSD slot. I am sure that it has got a slot for miniSD card.

1) What GPS is there? SiRF Star III?
2) When are we going to see something like that with VGA (and even FM radio which is STUPIDLY easy to include)?
3) Does it have the wheel like Hermes?
4) Just 128MB ROM???
5) I would buy this but I would still miss my LOOX 720: great VGA, good position for CIR i.e. remote control (and not just SIR), CF slot, huge battery, USB host (a feature that didn't deserve its fate) and nice 128MB RAM (which if you ask me ARE STILL needed for WM5... or at least 96MB)...
...anyway...
