OMG: OS X on your iPod?
Step aside, Microsoft: that UMPC form-factor is officially played out. The new hotness is running "Leopard Mobile" on your iPod, which is no small feat considering the devices' sub-100MHz processors and lack of a touchscreen or Internet access. Don't think it's possible? We were a bit skeptical at first too, but just click on the Read link and see for yourself -- as we all know, YouTube won't host a video until it's been verified as completely legitimate.

new SONY cams (video and photo) have a touchscreen that's the exact size of iPod's. Mine's a Widescreen 16:9 ratio video cam 2.5" touchscreen monstah!
i juss hope an apple rep is watching all the comments and somthing like this actually does come out soon
FAKE! a psp is more powerful than an ipod and it lags to load windows 95, how can an ipod that is much less powerful than a psp load an operating system so easily and not lagy at all.
The latest iPods DO have touchscreen, the functionality of them just hasn't been turned on yet.
i keed.
yeah, My iPod also plays halflife 2 at 120FPS and can triple boot windows, OS X and Linux.
It also can read my eyeballs as an input instead of needing a stylus.
pretty sweet. want to see a video of it?
>:P
that's pretty funny all the same. :)
wow guys, do you think this is real?
the video shows two hard drives
"did you see us fight?"
"no"
"TRAP!!"
hehe
What a bunch of 'gloids. Why don't you babies go home to your MA-MA!?!

Come on now guys...they knew it was fake...fakes, jokes, tricks...don't bash Evan just for the sake of bashing.
Ralph Wiggum says:
"Internet people scare me!"
the scroll moves before the guys hand does.......practice your timing idiot...
this is funny.
Man, the text in that browser would be so hard to read.
The lamest thing about the comments in this thread, is that everyone is posting..."video on video ipod with memorized motions with a stylus" or something like that.
So here i am reading comments and 50 of them are repeating.
first off. Read the comments and stop repeating.
second. while it is deemed "not clever" by some. It has never been done. and henceforth is clever and original. He thought of it, he did it.
Wow, Engadget readers are a proverbial "sack of hammers"...
Nuttin' gets past you guys...
Ok, it's fake, we get it.
But here's an apple rumor that neve rmade it to engadget, and was posted online wayyy before thsi whole "OSX on your iPod" tripe came about.
It concerns Windows Vista.
You can read the whole article here...

OMG HAX!!!!
He should have stuck to spanking off and watching porn. More productive than this arsey rubbish...
Obvious fake.
I would like to see a touchscreen, Mail Lite, iCal Lite, Address Book Mobile,Safari X-press,built in 3meg. camera, WiFi / Max, Gizmo,Zphone and a World Phone w/GSM and CDMA. Make it run with the the Quicksilver app. Do that, I'll buy it. Till then, it's multiple devices. Who the hell wants a desktop in a small device like that. Not unless you have a really small and simple to navigate GUI.
FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE...
I have always been wondering, why can those who take these photos of early and none released products can't take a sharp image? What's the problem? All cameras today have autofocus and flash. It's like an unwritten rule, if the image is blurry, it's totaly fake. No question.
I'm not sure, but I think this might be a fake.
I want one. No. Two.
some of you didnt read that this is a new ipod with touchscreen and also
when he pushes the middle button to select quicktime or watever, if he was playing a video the scroller thing would come up so he could fast forward etc the video
although i cant rule out the possibility of a fake i am leaning towards true, but to prove its true he really needs to show us a complete boot into the os
@todd do you mean sony :P
Is it possible to get the duplicate comments removed (or moved to a link to "more like this")?
If Apple or anyone really wanted to get something like a computer OS running on an iPod, wouldn't they want to make more use of the iPod's "Scroll Wheel" to do things like, well, "scrolling"? Why use a PDA-style stylus?
Looking at this the other way round, if my next iPod had one more feature, apart from a bigger screen, it would have to be wireless connectivity. How would you let your iPod make use of the music, photos or videos on your home computer network or on the internet? How would you get content from your iPod onto your home audio and video systems?
A few clicks and a few scrolls of the scrolling click wheel, I think, not by loading up a miniturised version of a Unix OS and adding a touch screen and a pointing stick.
The stupidity of some of the comment(er)s on Engadget (ESPECIALLY in articles related to fake products/vapourware/pics/vids/models/news/etc) makes it -really- hard to distinguish the sarcastic comments from the honestly stupid ones.
For the latter group of commenters, no, this comment is -not- sarcastic.
Well....
There IS a linux for the Ipod:

Have fun.
(not an ipod'er - Zire 71/72 with 1GB SD card is nuff for me, and much more versatile ;-)
