Seamon's EasyGo waterproof fingerprint scanner
So you fancy red knit caps and a taste for the life aquatic, eh? Only thing is, you can't leave this cruel, cruel terra firma for fear of your sensitive data ending up in the hands of swashbuckling, or other pirate-types. Well put down that Glock and call-off the MPAA, 'cause Seamon Inc. will keep that PC booty safe even under the sloppiest of conditions. The $172 EasyGo optical fingerprint scanner is designed to cut through that thick, watery glaze for biometric access to your USB-equipped Windows laptop. Best of all, unlike iris-scanners, the EasyGo is immune to Hydrogen Psychosis, which is nice.

biometric access control for my deep sea lair
Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Or a gadget that every Hollywood mogul will want at the bottom of their swimming pool, to control who-knows-what, but it's too cool not to have.

Well, I for one, will keep mine under a waterfall. how else will I keep it clean, with folks grubby fingers getting all over it? and a finger print reader fountain is just really appealing to me.

The English translation of the article is hysterical.
"The water getting wet, to be strong to also the fat hand stably fingerprint certification operation is possible, the sensor which is born in order depends on “OptoPlus” patent technology, to pull out the performance of organism certification algorithm to the maximum, is “EasyGo M01” sensor module."

The MS Fingerprint reader is pretty durable, and I think it would be possible to make the reader completely waterproof with some silicone glue to seal out the water from the fingerprint sensor area. As most of you know, the MS Fingerprint device is a copy of the Digital Persona UareU 4000b, and even though they (DP) won't confirm it, I know they've sold a large number of those readers with solid glass sensor protectors (the ones they usually use is made out of silicone). These are virtually waterproof.
We've done a multilingual Time&Assistance application called Cerberus using this tech. Not waterproof yet, though... http://www.cerberus.com.mx. The site is all in Spanish, but you can read some about Cerberus at http://www.lekare.com
