We've only been hearing about (and seeing, and getting the launch of) the
Canary for a couple months now, so it's about time Motorola officially launched the damned things. The KRZR, as we very well know, is the latest in Moto's 4 LTTR DVCE NAME LINE, both models featuring a microSD,
Screen3, and a thinned-wideness but slightly girthier body. The specs between sub-models do vary, however: GSM K1 has Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, 176 x 220 display, and 2 megapixel camera; both K1ms will forgo the A2DP, but the CDMA / 1xRTT version has a QVGA display (and an accordingly larger battery), and a 2 megapixel camera, while the EV-DO K1m has that damned 176 x 220 display a 1.3 megapixel camera, as well as a millimeter added to its waistline. Despite the differences, though, all
should be available in the second half of the year (you know, the half we're currently in) from, well,
you know damned well
who's gonna offer this phone.
P.S. -From the looks of it, that device is running Moto's new Juix interface. We can't yet confirm this, but that'd certainly be a welcome addition to the otherwise predictable handset.

i hope Verizon gets one of these or the slivr soon because i'm waiting til new models are released til i purchase a new phone.
Look at that chin...
That's funny - it doesn't look Juix.
/dont flame, its just a joke.
From the specs it doesn't seem like a bad workhorse phone if priced decently, even by our Nokia N and E, SE K800 totting foreign standards. I mean, it does have A2DP, for what that's worth to you. And it is pretty sleek. If the camera and interface are improved over the V3x well, Motorola, it's about time at last.
I hope sprint gets one of these new motos. The KRZR or a cdma slvr. This one looks hot, i want it.
I'm sure that it won't have A2DP by the time Verizon gets their greedy little hands on it.
I never thought that someone could ruin the Moto interface for crying out loud. I mean, a blank screen is just about better than a Moto interface. The Verizon interface though, oh man, I'd rather not even have a phone. They are going to ruin this one too.. :(
What I'd really like to know is how exactly do you say that crazy collection of consanants? Krazyer? Kazer? Krrrzer?
Help me Motorola! I need vowels!
qqvga? as in 160x120? as in the same resolution as the average free phone these days?
*vomits*
new style looks nice
omg that looks so hot! I dont like the blue version, its fugly!. I hope that Moto releases the all black or the sliver/platinum KRZR K1 GSM in Australia this yr!!!!! boo at the blue!!!! BOOOOO
is it something like crusier
The RAZR line would really be great if they could miniaturize the components enough to whack off that big bulbous bottom end (or "chin" as Kevin above put it, LOL).
I also hope Moto has finally fixed the stupid and irritating flaw of the RAZR phones not sounding a person's chosen custom ringtone when using a Bluetooth earpiece. That is the most glaring flaw in the entire RAZR line, which prevents me from buying any RAZR in the first place even though I'm familiar with them.
Of course, Moto always has at least one glaring flaw in all of its phones. Let's hope these new models get everything right, for once.

When is Motorola finally going to step up and offer a real Razor? How handy would that be? You're running around all day, trying to make connections at the airport and get to your business meeting. Thankfully, you've got an electric RAZR built into your mobile communications device, so you take the edge off of your 5 o'clock shadow before meeting your clients.
I gonna need to re-up my plan in April, so if this thing launches in the next month, and US Cellular picks it up the second Verizon's exclusive-ness is up, then I will be very happy. Otherwise its the boring old RAZR for me [face_sad]
Does anyone knows about this www.krzrblog.com
Does anyone know of on Australian release date? I've heard October, but nothing seems to be set in stone.
These just hit the shore in the USA, you can buy them at a lot of unlocked phone sites already. I just got one from www.Sugarpipe.com who seemed to have the best price (with free shipping). From what I've seen so-far I think this phone is going to be a hit!
Ordering it right now on NewEgg unlocked...
i like this phone and everything. but does it even have a speakerphone on it?? even if it doesn't i still want to get it but does anyone know if it has a speaker phone????
I've got it (the european K1 version) and it has speaker phone. However, I must say that the phone didn't live up to my expectations. Coming from the SonyEricsson world I found the GUI and function on this phone completely irradical. The design is nice but almost everything else sucks. Bad screen (only 65k colors and small), bugs in software (phone reboots on occasion), redundancy in menus. Very strange menus, the order of menu items is strange and the phone is hard to use due to bad thinking in software design.
i am a customer of alltel (sucky!) and they only have the silver version of the krzr. i would really like to get the k1, the blue one, but they don't have them out in the US yet. does anyone know when alltel will get them? also, does the silver version have a video camera? alltel doesn't really say. and for the people that already have a krzr, would you recommend buying one?
