Matsushita Q1 profits jump 41.5% thanks to plasma TVs
Plasmas have been good to Matsushita. Their Panasonic branded sets have sent the companies profits soaring up 41.5%. This beat out the companies estimates by 11 percent. They say that Panasonic's plasmas enjoyed a "healthy demand and relatively mild price declines in the quarter" and we say, people buy quality. Panasonic's plasmas may not be the best you can buy, but they are awful good for the cash.
