Daewoo releases SummuS DLD-42C1LMR LCD TV
Daewoo has released what appears to be its first LCD TV, the 42-inch SummuS DLD-42C1LMR. Spec-wise the set looks decent enough, with an impressive 5,000:1 contrast ratio, 6-millisecond response time, and HDMI input, although you'll have to settle for 1080i 720p resolution. The display also features Daewoo's MGDi PLUS engine, which promises to reduce noise and provide a "smoother" picture, as well as something that Google interprets as "TV/VCR/DVD/DSTB/mammary gland combinations," which, uh, would also be a first. No word on price but it looks like this one's only available in Korea.

Boob tube!
How is it possible that an LCD TV would have an 1080i resolution? Further, how is it possible that Engadget would get this wrong? Wait, nobody bothered to read the specs for this TV where it notes that the scanning method is 720P for this TV.
The chaps have corrected the resolution but have misled us over contrast which they claim is 5000:1. Clearly it is the Life cancerous unit rain that is 5000:1. Not to mention they said nothing of the Consuming war potential of 240W.
ok, ok, no flaming, just kidding. gotta love those translations.
Seriously, is anyone still impressed when they see contrast ratio's? It's an ungoverned figure that means nothing so long as the manfacturer can slap whatever number they want on the thing.
No what everyone really wants to know is what size the screen is, if the picture quality is good or bad, maybe many people want to know id it is HD ready.
This is what many people want to know about TV's not ratios but what is the most important is ready for it PRICE.
