USB pendant magically locates lost objects
You are getting sleepy, very sleepy. You eyelids are slowly drooping, drooping down. You have seen your fair share of USB flash drives, but this 256MB USB pendant from Solid Alliance is certainly a first. In addition to acting like a plain old storage device, the pendant promises to help you find your lost items just by loading photos of them onto the drive -- which admittedly could prove a bit challenging since the object is, well, lost. You then simply hold out the pendant and let it lead the way. You will not question its dubious efficacy, and you can get one for ¥9,800 (that's $85 US). When we snap our fingers, you will wake up feeling refreshed, and unaware this occurred.

CrossFireXT17 @ Aug 4th 2006 8:48PM
yea seriously, anyone have a test of this thing?
joe schmo @ Aug 4th 2006 8:54PM
it's a joke fools
snoopy @ Aug 4th 2006 9:04PM
This is based on dowsing (With the rods to find water). Someone in my family is obsessed with this. It seems to ocassionaly work, but it certinly dosn't work very well.
CharlieX @ Aug 4th 2006 9:16PM
i bet they wouldn't let you on a plane with that
x23 @ Aug 4th 2006 9:39PM
dowsing doesn't work. and neither does this device. both are based on the ideomotor effect.
sorta like how the "spirits" get all sorts of dumb all of a sudden when you blindfold yourself while using a ouija board.
shirizaki @ Aug 4th 2006 9:42PM
If it doesn't find your things, it makes a kickass theft deterrent.
Nizam Rahman @ Aug 4th 2006 10:36PM
But more importantly, does it remember dubious faces? Mini-big-brother-tool anyone?
Keith @ Aug 4th 2006 10:42PM
I used to have a bad problem losing crap like my keys. For som reason, it's not that big of a deal anymore....I'd feel like an idiot if I had to rely on this thing.
Russ @ Aug 4th 2006 10:45PM
Man, I could have used one of these attached to my bluetooth headset. It's lost somewhere in my apartment (and I KNOW it's there, because my phone keeps routing the sound to it!). It's been lost for a week now....sucks.
David @ Aug 4th 2006 11:23PM
How many people keep photos of commonly-lost items around anyway? The whole thing is so bizarre.
TeddyN @ Aug 5th 2006 12:12AM
Where are you supposed to keep this thing so that it doesn't get lost?
Snap2 @ Aug 5th 2006 12:37AM
You should buy two of them, in case you lose he first one, you can use the second one to find it. Hmm, better make that three, just to be on the safe side.

exactly, the only reason why this cant be proven. cause no one is gonna go take pictures of every item they own.
steviedee @ Aug 5th 2006 5:51AM

Mark @ Aug 5th 2006 7:22AM
what would happen if you put a photo of IT on it, would it implode, forming a black hole in space and time?
beelzebub123 @ Aug 5th 2006 12:33PM
...i told you that you couldn't hypnotise me...
abelIAN @ Aug 5th 2006 1:31PM
"what would happen if you put a photo of IT on it, would it implode, forming a black hole in space and time?"
This comment made my day.
Chris @ Aug 5th 2006 2:08PM
Yeah, right! It's probably just another clever marketing scheme to get idiots to buy them.

*** Dowsing does work but it has to be done right it is not something any idiot can do with a cup of water and a bit of wire***

Sweet, maybe this will help me find that hot girl I peeped at the club last night.
John Sununu @ Aug 7th 2006 12:43PM
How can you take a picture of an item that's missing?

this thing is sooo silly! i like harry potter and when i saw this i was like :O the made a remembral. but that is soooo far from that and far worse! it will never work they're just wasting time and money!
Sean @ Aug 15th 2006 9:10PM
I know what this could be used for. What you do is put a picture of a lost person on, and suspend it over a map to find them. Oh, then you could try it with ufo pictures and a panoramic picture of the galaxy! I've got it, I've got it, we could use it to discover where all the left socks went! The inventors would make a fortune if we could get it to do that!
johnny @ Aug 15th 2006 9:16PM
how would it even find it?
like. beep as you get closer?
or move to the direction the obect is?
or would it talk to you?
"turn left idiot."
really. -_-;;
alea @ Aug 16th 2006 10:43AM
What if you lose the USB device? Then what do you do? It doesn't seem likely that a electronis device can locate something else by a means of a picture. The whole concept sounds useless to me.
cracovie @ Sep 20th 2006 3:16PM
Are people really falling for this? Is it popular anywhere else than Japan?
megan @ Nov 19th 2006 3:41PM
this seems pretty stupid. "JUST MAGICALLY HOLD IT OUT AND IT WILL FIND YOUR LOST ITEMS"
& why would u take a picture. you really cant. its not like you know you're gonna lose whatever it is. like..let me take a picture of the cap to this pen incase i loose it..whooo. :
