Pioneer to build new PDP facility in Japan
Pioneer is looking to up the ante in their bid for plasma world domination. They have plans to build a completely new plant some place in the Minami-Alps area of Japan. There hasn't been any deets leaked about the size of the facility, but as these things go, they don't build 'em small. The plant is suppose to be running by March of '08 and initially output more then 300,00 TVs, but eventually when the plant really gets cranking, Pioneer is expecting more then 1,000,000 units. They had better sell some of these too in-order to defer the 30 billion yen ($240 million) cost of building the plant.
