Electrolux Cyber fridge and "WoW" appliances
It seems the new Cyber fridge from Electrolux is a concession to the true purpose of this kind of PC-excess: bragging rights. Sure, it's fun to say that you can surf the Internet from a touchscreen computer built into your refrigerator, but who really has time for that? That's why Electrolux was kind enough to slap the display in the most awkward place imaginable, so you're not even tempted to check your email or look up a recipe on the thing. Another example of the incredible practicality that Electrolux builds into all of their appliances can be viewed after the break. Their "War on White" (WoW) set of washer, dryer and refrigerator manages to look sexy in spite of a totally random and prominently featured silhouette of a random lady wearing a hat. True design genius.Read - Cyber fridge

Come on engadget, you had everyone thinking that we can play World of Warcraft on our appliances now.

Nothing says high tech like women's clothing fashion from the 1930s.

Aww. It should have been World of Warcraft, too, because if that were implemented in my refridgerator I probably wouldn't make so much of a case against taking the time to go get food when I'm playing. It wouldn't be so much bragging rights then as essential to survival.
Playing with my laptop on the kitchen floor in front of the pantry just gets me kicked in the face =/

I thought it was about WoW too, but now that I've seen the hat lady, I must get one of each of those things. It's irresistible.

That must be uncomfertable to type on a touch screen that hight. I take it theres a keyboard or something because other wise thats just plane stupid. Imagine typing an email or craning your neck up like that while playing a game.
But does it play Doom?
I, for one, welcome our beverage cooling overlords. ;-)

I think "most awkward place imaginable" is an overstatement. With a fridge, there are a lot of better places to call that. I'm thinking a screen in the bottom of the ice maker tray....

Does it have a camera inside? It's a must, so one could check if the elves switched the light off.

What we need is a energy hybrid fridge that has a motor that runs on DC with batteries connected to an exercycle. The PC then tells you how many calories you've burned, how much electricity you've generated and how long that will keep all the muck in your fridge cold. Come on.

those certainly are FUGLY.
