The Engadget commercial contest!

Here are the rules:
- Make the ultimate Engadget commercial
- Keep it PG-13 (like the site)
- Keep it under 5 minutes long (if you really must go longer, break it up into pieces, like those serialized commercials)
- If it's not in English, please include subtitles!
- You can enter no more than three different commercials
- It has to be your work! You can re-enact some famous commercial or something, but you can't just slap our logo on somebody's else's copyrighted material.
- Yes, it can be animation, 3D rendered, or whatever else you can imagine
- 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- Blu-ray drive(!)
- 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
- 17-inch WUXGA display (1920 x 1200)
- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600GT graphics (256MB RAM), HDMI out
- 200GB SATA RAID 0 drives
- ExpressCard/54 slot
- PC Card slot
- SD / Memory Stick media reader
- 802.11/a/b/g WiFi, Bluetooth
- 1394, S-Video, USB 2.0 (3), VGA, S/PDIF, Ethernet, v.92 modem, webcam
- XP Media Center 2005, tons of bundled software
- House of Flying Daggers on Blu-ray, HDMI to DVI adapter, etc.
- Send your clip to contests at engadget dawt com -- it can't be any larger than 10MB due to size limitations of email, but be sure to keep a higher resolution copy for us to show on the site! If it's just too large to send to us, you can put it on YouTube (or another video sharing site) and send us the link -- but we prefer email.
- Have yours in by 11:59PM EST, Sunday September 10th
- Contest is open to anyone worldwide -- including professionals -- so bring your a-game!
Update: It appears there was some confusion about the original draft of this post. We're not intending to air the commercials anywhere but here on this site -- the Super Bowl thing is just a joke, ok people? And even if we did for some reason decide to spend like a couple mil on a Super Bowl ad, you'd better believe we'd cut the winner in on that action. Hm, first blog with a Super Bowl ad... maybe we were on to something.
Here are those images you asked for!

So when are we going to see the clips and hear who the winner is ???
Its been some weeks since I've sent 2 30 seconds animated clips titled "the Engadget caveman" , the suspense is killing me .
When do we know the commercial contest results?
Come on Engadget it's aout time to let us know :)
Or at leat give us a date...
Going on 2 weeks since the deadline and still no word on the winner is torture, just plain torture I tell you.
@ miko and Darrol
Probably nobody entered.
People did enter as I am one of them plus some more that have videos on Youtube.
If that so You're thinking, than why bother checking and adding comments ;)
...
I've seen some on YouTube (had mine uploaded there too) and I bet there were plenty of other commercial done for the contest, and some people, including myself ;) had spent some time doing so. It would be nice to just honor their work with some results or at least something... We've been left with nothing, like there were no contest at all :(
I agree. Please please please can we at least have an estimated date for when a winner is decided on? Checking back everyday with no results is very heart-breaking. I need closure.
If I am thinking of the right video when you say your video, I just have to say that it can be a bit trippy. I actually ment to leave a comment about it on youtube.
Hi Guys,
Someone left a comment saying that my video on youtube, had the text fast in the end, but quite trippy, if thats what you are talking about Darrol, then that must me my video you commented on.
By the way my channel on YouTUBE has the videos incase anyone is interested in checking them out.

@Mithun Paul
Don't bother it was mine ;)
We've just cleared that out on YouTube
So confused on who made what video now. I commented on the Gripboy one indeed saying that the multi color part looks a bit trippy as it could be something someone doing drugs might claim to see or like to see.
Mine can be found on youtube under my account there which has the name of BigDBassist. I will post a link later because I can not access youtube at school.
Hey everyone.. they haven't forgotten about us. I got an email a couple of days ago from Ryan (the original poster of this contest) with a question about my entry. Before anyone panics, there was no indication of whether or not I had won or if I was a finalist or anything else. In fact, if anything I'd say that I probably DIDN'T win... but I'll hold out hope.
In any event, the people running this contest are still acknowledging it exists, so every just needs to be patient for a bit longer.
Hey Victor,
Do you have your entry up on youTUBE or somewhere, would love to check it out. I had written to Ryan last week about the contest and he replied saying be patient. Haha...... Would love to compare all the video ourselves too. For the trip sakes.
Actually now that I think about it, I posted comments on quite a few videos on youtube. I have to go back later today and look at which ones I commented and what I said.
Well, I'm glad to hear that Engadget hasn't forgotten about us. But I bet there are other vids that got e-mailed in like mine that we'll just have to wait on. To add to the pubic gallery I've posted mine to youtube for your perusal and critique:

Hey guys,
One good thing that kicked of from making the AD was that I managed to get an a freelance job, with someone wanting to get an intro video made seeing the AD I had made for the ENGADGET contest
@ZAck, really loved your video, The new concept me working on the AD is similar, but not with the objects exploding into many parts, but rather to its constituent parts adn then freezing and re-assembling to form another gadget. I work in 3DS max and found it a bit time consuming especially the co-ordination part involving the the exploded parts with integrity of form re forming the new gadget. BUt fun making ti anyways, been working on it for th epast one week.
Cherios to all who participated.
Engadget doesn't reply to any of my emails about the contest. But I hear that they played some 'finalists' at their meetup... no word on who. Why can't they post some update and let us know how it's going?
Anyways, here is my youtube link to add to the list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spz5Y6Vpq2s
I found where it says that they showed 9 finalists for the commercial contest. I hope my video was at least among those shown.

I saw your video Metal and I have to agree with the guy that left a comment on it.
I forgot to post the link to my video. Here it is:

Now that I watch it over again a few times I see some changes I could have made and should have made but never did which I regret now.
Here is my idea... Have drag queens dress like football player-zoom in on the faces(pretty ones) then zoom in on their shoes with the engadet image on them-do a play and then have them take their helmets off shake their heads and have one of them say engadet more than meets the eye. Or take a 2nd look at engadet. Carol laub
I don't get your point clearly... But i need to win that VAIO so badly. tell me what shud i do? does diz contest still yet going on? What if i live in Asia (Malaysia)
