Logitech's VX and MX Revolution mice
Logitech went back to the drawing board on the MX Revolution and VX Revolution mice, and here's what they came up with: the MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel, which enables force feedback application support. Basically the heavy-feeling alloy wheels (of which there are two on the MX, and one on the VX) can spin freely and smoothly for up to seven seconds with a flick of your finger, or lock into the regular ratcheted scrolling motion like most of us are used to, depending on usage (the VX requires a flipped switch to toggle between the modes), the application, and your system's settings. It's kinda one of those things you have to try for yourself to really appreciate (we got to play with one a few weeks back), but if you're already sold and don't have any problems with your mice once again having dozens of moving parts, the Revolution series will set you back $99 or $79, respectively.

I had the pleasure of having Logitech send me a Logitech MX Revolution to review, and now at work I curse the fact that I only have one. Its one of those things that once you start to use it, the bar that is your computer experience rises. The closest comparison is dual monitors vs a single monitor. The scroll wheel is my favorite feature especially for web development, or even should the need arise scroll through 3000+ emails in Outlook with a single flick of your wrist. Its sexy and functional, what else can you ask for in a mouse?

I bought a VX Revolution about 6 months ago. I LOVE the hyperscroll feature. The feel is the best I've used. But I have a huge problem with this mouse. At times, it refuses to send clicks to the computer. It looks like it clicked. It gives you visual feedback of a click accept it won't actually perform the click event.
For example, when it decides to not perform, you can click on a tab and it won't go to that tab. You can click 50 times in different places on the tab and it won't go there. Generally the only "solution" is to click on another object on the screen and then come back to the tab. Then it usually (but not always) accepts the click.
This is extremely frustrating. I have to keep my old POC mouse on my desktop for times when it won't accept a click.
I've downloaded the latest logitech drivers several times. They make it worse. It works best under microsofts standard optical mouse configuration.
Has anyone encountered these issues? Have you resolved them?
I love this mouse. It's feel and hyperscroll are awesome. But I can't handle the no-click clicks.
No the second scroll wheel on the side is a document flip. just movingg it back and forth switchs which screen on your desktop you are on. ITS NOT A SCROLL WHEEL! it does not spin 360. I own this mouse and it works great UNLESS you use wireless. It interferes and freezes the mouse expecially when browsing the internet.
